A couple of months ago I ordered a out of print vinyl boxset advertised on Amazon by one of their 3rd party sellers for $150 USD. The seller didn't ship the item for a week and messaged me saying that he had tried to get in touch with me which was a lie. He then said that he didn't have stock of the item and asked me to cancel the order (which he could have done so himself from his end). I put in a cancellation request and he took his time (2 weeks) before I had to resort to filing their A-Z claims to get him to cancel the order.
As it turns out, he has two copies of the boxset and once the order was cancelled, he priced the one I had ordered for $150 up to $378. So he was lying about not having any stock of the item, he just didn't want to sell it at $150. I wouldn't have minded if he had done the right thing and processed the cancellation quickly. To top it off, he was rude in his final message to me.
So I placed negative feedback on his seller account, but he has been able to get removed 3 times over. I have had to call the US several times to get the feedback reinstated but each time he is able to get it removed.
So Amazon's seller feedback system is a joke and not to be trusted.
Upon examining his seller feedback which is back to 100%, many of the posts are from one buyer called Moocher. So he has probably posted +ve feedback for himself using this buyer account. Yes Amazon.com is clueless or just doesn't care. All they are concerned about is having as many sellers using their platform. The buyers are not their main concern.
Avoid the seller called Lennix or his other seller account: Mouseketeerville.
