  2. Further information: Krell Foundation AV amp I'm the second owner buying this from another member a year ago. It performs flawlessly once you master the control options. It has a very good DAC inside that beats the Marantz AV8002 or Arcam AV888. The original owner replaced his Marantz SA11-S1 CD player because of the DAC especially the solid bass performance so important in HT Systems. Handling 4K: This Award winning unit comes in the original box with a 4K HDR Fury key that separates the 4k video track directly to feed your 4k tv whilst sending the audio track to the Krell. There are two small blemishes shown in the photos that are cosmetic only occurred during delivery to the original owner. Shipping at buyers cost and PayPal users will cover their fees please. 5. Item: Krell KSA 80B Location: Sunshine Coast Queensland Price: $3,000 Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: Have upgraded. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Great little amp which can be lifted and moved without the use of a crane. A classic Amp from Krell that doesn't get hot, doesn't have fans, has ample power /current for Duntechs, doesn't sound as electronic as the previous model, and really does an all round excellent job. I think i purchased this from the original owner being a 240v Sydney delivery about 5 years ago. Unusually this amp runs very cool (my dac is much hotter) The amp works superbly never had an issue. the amp is in excellent physical condition with a slight purplish coloring on the fins but no scratches or marks. Prefer pickup as don't have the original box. Happy to demonstrate on the sunshine Coast QLD Pictures:
  6. Item: Krell KSA 150 (Class A) Poweramp Location: Currently in Canberra - Can drop to Melbourne Price: $1650 Item Condition: Good Reason for selling: Raising funds for preamp repair Payment Method: Pickup Canberra or delivery to Melbourne - Cash, Paypal, EFT Extra Info: (no boxes or factory packing) I have owned the KSA-150 for the past 13 years and it has operated faultlessly in that period. It hasn't seen much use in the past 5 years as I purchased it's big brother the FPB-600 and have been using that as my main power amp. I have powered up the 150 and run it for a few hours to make sure it is still operating correctly and really was surprised at how good it sounds. It is a beast of an amp and will pretty much drive anything (as Krells are known for) The amp has never been serviced or had the caps changed (I know some will ask that question) I have recently had my preamp repaired and upgraded which has been an expensive exercise, so I am selling off some gear that I really don't use much to fund the repair (hence the sale of the KSA-150) The amp is currently in Canberra on loan to a friend, so if someone in Canberra is interested transport would be very easy. I'll be picking up the amp this Sunday and taking it home to NE Victoria (near Albury). I can provide free transport to Melbourne next Tuesday or Wednesday. Shipping to other places is not really an option as the amp is very heavy and I don't have any suitable packing. There is no Pack and Send within 2 hours of my home and you would have to donate a kidney to have something like this shipped via P+S. I have attached images that my friend was kind enough to take for me last night. Pictures: KSA150250_MAN.pdf
  7. Item: Krell KAV-250a Power Amplifier Location: Len Wallis Audio HQ - 64 Burns Bay Road, Lane Cove, NSW Price: $2000 Item Condition: Very good Payment Method: Cash, credit cards, PayPal, Bank Transfer Extra Info: This early 1990's build has been fully tested by us. Some say that Krell's can be a little cold but we don't hear that at all. This unit offer a majestic and satisfying performances in spades! What you're looking at a 250 Watt per Ch (at 8 Ohm) proposition with a 2kW trans - more than enough mumbo to drive the fussiest of speakers but of course it's not all about numbers. This is an accurate, fast and natural amp with a broad sound stage and dynamic capabilities. Krell certainly over-engineered these units to last and this one is no exception. Will provide enjoyment for years to come. Pictures:
  8. Item: Krell KPS20i CD Player with remote and manual. Location: Gosford/Sydney Price: $2750 Neg Item Condition: Very Good Reason for selling: Fund raising Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal friends or pay fee, COD Only Extra Info: An excellent CD Player with inbuilt Dac. This is 26Kg (50lbs) of Krell quality, complete with manual and original steel Krell remote. This player is in great condition and has many favourable reviews online. Features a special magnetic, star shaped puck to hold the CD disc in place. Under the remote controlled sliding drawer cover, there's a row of green LED's that shine on the disc surface and are said to reduce read errors. Build quality is simply amazing and not many players are made to this standard. Resently checked over, serviced and given a clean bill of health. Sound is superb, with some of the deepest and most dynamic bass I've heard from a CD Player. I can deliver to Sydney, or ship worldwide at buyers cost. I insist on insurance if shipping. Review and further information from Stereophile here. https://www.stereophile.com/cdplayers/krell_kps-20iii_cd_player/index.html Pictures:
  9. Item:Parasound Halo A52 Power amp Location:Melbourne,Victoria Price:$1700 (firm) Item Condition:9/10 Reason for selling: Because I don't know when to quit Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info The Halo series from Parasound has some what of cult status, being designed by the legendary John Curl. This amp puts out 30 amps of current which gives it performance beyound it power rating. I dare you to find a better built, better featured and better sounding 5 channel amp for this price (hence I'm firm at $1700) This is a beautifully warm and organic sounding amplifier. I bought it because it was the only amp that satisfied me musically while still providing 5 channels for surround sound. I had to think long and hard before I offered it for sale. It is great for low impedance or hard to drive speakers like PMC, ATC and Dynaudio which I have it running now. I have original box but this Amp is big and heavy so suggest local pick-up unless your willing to cover cost of shipping. PM me for Pics

  11. Item: Krell Connect Network Audio Player/DAC Location: Len Wallis Audio HQ - 64 Burns Bay Road, Lane Cove NSW 2066 Price: $1000 Item Condition: Mint with original carton. Payment Method: Cash, Paypal, Credit Cards, Bank Transfer Delivery: We can deliver to anywhere in Australia, POA Extra info: Ideally suited to anyone who is streaming music from their personal files (NAS Drive etc.) and looking for very high performance. This unit will not stream external services such as Spotify etc. We have also been informed that there will be no further enhancements to the app, which however is intuitive and fully functional. The Connect will play back files ranging from FLAC and WAV to MP3 and WMA at up to 24-bit/192kHz, the Wi-Fi-enabled Connect also streams Ogg, WMA, and MP3. Connect also treats Internet radio with the same conversion process as high-resolution audio, achieving a surprisingly high level of performance. The unit has a built-in LCD screen, and available smartphone apps for the ultimate in navigation and control. The DAC-equipped Connect has a 32-bit ESS Sabre chipset with discrete, direct-coupled analog circuitry outputting via RCA or balanced audio outputs. Due to its limited application we are offering this unit at a very realistic price. If you have the application for this unit, which initially retailed for $5,995, it represents an excellent buy. 12. Item: Krell FPB-200 Stereo power amplifier Location: Melbourne Price: $1,500 Item Condition: Good Reason for selling: I believe the unit is developing a fault, so I've purchased a PS Audio BHK-250 power amp Payment Method: Pickup - COD Only Extra Info: Sounds spectacular, but its temp protection has switched it to standby once around 2 years ago and then twice this last month. The only 'authorised Krell service center in Victoria' (Doncaster) say they don't service Krell any more and I've read in the forums here about folks having trouble finding service from reliable and knowledgeable techs. 240v model originally purchased in Oz. Pickup only. Bring a back brace or a friend - it's heavy Pictures:
  13. Any one in Adelaide with any of these amps? Just need a visit to try them on my Ambience ribbons. Usal bribery of wine or whiskey and a chance to meet plenty of audio fanatics. Cheers, Hugh
  14. I have an over 10-year-old Krell FBP600 power amp, but I really have little idea what the best way to move it on might be. Purchased from Len Wallis a long time ago, I am really wanting to downsize. This thing is huge and takes 2-3 people just to move it, let alone lift it out of the house. It's like moving a piano. It's a pure Class A amp that outputs 600W into 8 Ohms, and doubles its output into 4 Ohms and doubles it again into 2 Ohms. So while it sounds amazing, I am finding it grossly impractical in some ways (runs very hot, takes 30mins+ to warm up but consumes too much power to allow it to idle, sharp heat fins aren't child-friendly). Some of you will think I am crazy to get rid of it as its technical specs are what many an audiophile would drool over. Part of the trouble is that you need a furniture removalist to transport the thing. So if I list on eBay, it's pick up only in Sydney and many buyers would struggle to load it into their cars. If you drive a sedan, you might need to hire a van to transport it. The razor-sharp heat fins would tear holes in your back seat upholstery if you put it into the back seat. I suppose I could trade it in at Len Wallis for store credit and ask their team to come and pick it up. A beast of this size creates practical dilemmas when selling. Other than to donate it to you for free (I know someone is going offer to "help" me by sending out a furniture removalist to collect it off me), what do forum members advise? I'd also be interested in views on current market value.
  15. Item: Krell S300i Integrated Amplifier Location: Canberra, ACT Price: $1650 NOW: $1,350 Item Condition: Excellent condition Reason for selling: Downsizing my system Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, bank transfer Extra Info: Price firm. Perfect condition. Happy to arrange shipping at cost, but I expect it will be about $50 given the substantial weight. A Musical Powerhouse with Delicacy and Finesse: A Massive Transformer and Ratings of 150Wpc into 8 Ohms, 300Wpc into 4 Ohms. Winner of The Absolute Sound's Editors' Choice Award, the S-300i employs a Class-A, fully balanced Krell Current Mode Preamplifier section. I have used this amplifier to drive my Martin Logan Montis electrostatic speakers and my Sonus Fabers and it is easily the best amp I've used with both of those, very different, speakers. Sadly with kids and life I rarely get to enjoy my music and so this amp has hardly been used for some years. Have now sold the Martin Logans as I downsize and move to a more modest system. It is a used amplifier but in excellent cosmetic and operating condition. It comes complete with the very sturdy remote control. I do not have the original boxes however I can pack this amplifier very carefully for shipping if required for an interstate buyer. Dimensions: 43cm (w) x 43 cm (d) x 9cm (h) Pictures:

  17. Hi everyone... Does anyone have any thoughts or experiences using either of these players as transports? And which one do you think would perform better if used solely as a tranport? Thanks
  18. Item: Krell Full Power Balance (FPB) 600 Power Amp (circa. 2000) Location: Western Sydney Price: $3990 (includes $40 donation to SNA) Item Condition: very good Reason for selling: downsizing (this beast is MASSIVE) to petite Devialet amps in a computer audio setup (a well overdue change after 18 years) with an equally oversized recording collection also being transferred onto NAS Payment Method: PayPal, Cash on pickup (-3% discount) Extra Info: no remote This legendary D’Agostino era Krell FPB 600 amp was purchased circa 2000 from Len Wallis Audio. Though it has served me flawlessly all of these years, I have with some regret decided it is time it must go because, however much of an audiophile’s wet dream it might be, the beast is just too massive. The amp weighs 80kg, but it feels like far more because of the rock-like solidity of the construction. The sheer weight of the monster makes interstate shipping utterly impractical. The heat fins are also rather sharp (see pictures) making handling rather difficult while rendering this model less than child-friendly. Moving this beast is like moving a piano. It requires at least two people to lift it—and preferably three. Len Wallis sent out three burly blokes when they delivered it. As far as the sound quality goes, it is hard to imagine anything closer to audiophile nirvana. You would think they would sound muscular, and they can be when required, but in actual fact, they are infinitely delicate and refined. With 600W of Class A amplification into 8 Ohms, 1200W into 4 Ohms, and 2400W into 2 Ohms, they drive any speaker load with an effortless aplomb and sweetness without comparison. Any other amp simply sounds like it under severe strain. Yes, the Devialet amp it is getting replaced with is a severe downgrade, but given how massive the Krell amp is, downsizing to the petite Devialet amp will represent a refreshing change. Now I have experienced audiophile nirvana, the time has come for brute pragmatism to win over the blind pursuit of perfection at all cost. It should be mentioned that there is NO remote to control the amp. It consumes absurd amounts of power at rest and you will have to switch it off after use rather than put it into standby anyway so a remote is of little use to you. Being a power amp, a remote won’t be of use in controlling the volume levels either. In its time, these were Stereophile Class A amplifiers: https://www.stereophile.com/solidpoweramps/829/index.html Specs: Two-channel, bridged mono, solid-state power amplifier with Sustained Plateau Biasing output stages. Power output: 600Wpc into 8 ohms (27.8dBW), 1200W into 4 ohms (27.8dBW). Power bandwidth (-3dB): 4Hz-20kHz. Output impedance: 0.03 ohms. Input sensitivity: 4.3V RMS (balanced) for rated output. Input impedance: 85k ohms. Balance XLR inputs as well as RCA inputs Dimensions: 48 x 25 x 65cm (W x H x D) Original retail price around $18 000 AUD The asking price of the amp simply reflects the fact that it is now some 18 years old, but it does mean that this represents a ridiculous bargain. Amplifiers of this quality virtually never come up for sale and you could not possibly ask for more at this price range. This is a once in a lifetime chance to own bragging rights to anything that even remotely approaches such outlandish specs at this price so you'd better hurry and grab them while you can. Pictures:
  19. Further information: Item: Krell S-300i Int Amp This is an excellent sounding amp. Previously purchased from a sna member. It has been serving me well during the time. I now have changed the arrangement so it is no longer needed therefore for sale. It comes with remote control but no original box, so pickup is preferred.
  20. Further information: Selling my Krell Showcase DVD/ CD player. Have predominantly used it as a 2-channel player. In perfect working condition and no longer listening to CD's as the reason for selling this. It is in mint condition with original factory box and remote. The video section of Krell Showcase might be dated, but the audio section is still current. Has balanced outputs. The highlight of this unit is the audio performance. It's 2 channel abilities are second to none. Mechanically inert platform Highly stable clock reference Wide bandwidth design Outstanding bass weight, midrange articulation, and high frequency extension DAC performance Will not disappoint if used for 2 channel stereo only. Original metal remote control that if you hit a burglar with it's game over is included. FOR THOSE WONDERING ABOUT THE DUAL CHASSIS, THE BOTTOM IS A FULLY REGULATED POWER SUPPLY, THE TOP IS THE AMPLIFIER. Originally released in 1993 to the tune of $35,000 - which in today's dollars equals $62,299.52! . From Wes Philips over at Stereophile: "The Audio Standard is a double-decker amplifier: its regulated power supply occupies a chassis separate from, and equal in size to, that holding the audio circuitry. The power supply has an LED readout (which can be turned off) that displays the voltage coming out of the wall. The audio portion of the amp—the top deck—features a large oval meter offering a variety of illumination and readout configurations." 23. Item: Krell HTS 5.1 Location: Perth Price: 450 Item Condition: very good Reason for selling: Surplus to needs Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Surplus to needs at the moment and a regretful sale as it is an amazing sounding unit even as a 2 channel dac/pre, just too much gear and don't have a use for it atm. Comes with remote as pictured. I don't think the remote is working, but I haven't put any effort into trying to get it to work, swapped the batteries but that is all. Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.
  24. Item: Krell KAV 500i with remote Location: Balwyn, Vic Price: $1400 Item Condition: Good *see below Reason for selling: NLR Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, Extra Info: 250w into 8ohms and 500w into 4ohms. Has HT bypass ability on all inputs and can be used purely as preamp. I told myself many times i'd never sell this one on, but I recently bought some tube monoblock amps that are a better match for my main speakers. This amp was amazing for my Kef r500s which I sold a while ago. It was also a great match for my Q Acoustics Concept 40. *The amp has a slight hum that comes in and out presumably from the transformer that can be heard if you're right next to the amp. From my couch seated position I couldn't ever hear it but if you're sitting right next to it you could. It sounds a bit like how a step-down transformer sounds. Due to this I have adjusted the price. Local pickup is preferred as I don't have original box and it weighs about 23kg.
  25. Item: Krell KAV-300i, 240V Location: Melbourne Price: $1200 + postage Item Condition: Used but in excellent working condition Reason for selling: Moved house and with too much gear, lightening the load Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Very reluctant sale as this is an excellent unit and whilst other amplifiers have come and gone, this has always sounded and performed flawlessly. I am the 2nd owner and used it to drive my old series B&W 604s. Whilst the back sticker states it is a 115V it definitely a 240V unit. I have the original double box packaging, the remote, operating manual and torx key. Input 3 is currently set for surround sound processor so bypasses volume control but can be changed with the flick of the jumper on the inside panel. Instructions within the manual. No marks to speak of except small one in the centre top panel at the back edge as seen in the last photo. Made in the USA Photos:
