Hi All, curious for opinions. Im comparing a Rotel RA-1572II vs. NAD M10 V2 vs Arcam SA30 as an upgrade to my current stereo set up. 100% music and I stream ~15k tracks via a Squeezebox to an (old) Onkyo TX-82. Its served me well, til now, with the amp starting to have issues (relay). Sound is via completely refurbished Jensen System 500 speakers. See pics! I'm looking for a DAC improvement to the squeezebox - Im certain thy will do that. And an amp improvement. The room is 5M X7M with opening out to to the yard. Rotel is A/B 120W with improved DAC - but no streaming. NAD is class D, 100W - with streaming. Those modelsl have the same top of the line Ring DAC in them, made by dCS in Cambridge in very limited numbers. There are some minor scuffs to the faceplate which is hard to avoid on the black anodising Arcam produced at the time but only really noticed close up and the matt black and green illumination really does look impressive in the rack. This amplifier has brought me nothing but joy and the sound it creates really is beautiful, without trying to sound like an expert id say it provides great control, tight bass, great mid range and excellent treble without ever sounding harsh, probably because of the sizeable toroidal transformer found inside. Needless to say if it doesn't sell for some reason I won't be too disappointed having to keep it. It has trigger and remote inputs so it automatically powers on and off when a Reciever, Pre-amp power on/off if they also have the feature which is a great to have. Has speaker A and B options so you can bi-wire it or can be used to power two zones. This unit has been priced to sell and offers excellent value at less than 25% of the original RRP. Shipping interstate is an option, and via Australia Post will cost approximately $50 Power cable and manual included, will be shipped carefully but not in original box. Sorry about the pics as they also show an A38 also but this is sold, this listing is for the P38 only and the P38 is the one at the bottom for those unfamiliar with it. This amp puts out 30 amps of current which gives it performance beyound it power rating. I dare you to find a better built, better featured and better sounding 5 channel amp for this price (hence I'm firm at $1700) This is a beautifully warm and organic sounding amplifier. I bought it because it was the only amp that satisfied me musically while still providing 5 channels for surround sound. I had to think long and hard before I offered it for sale. It is great for low impedance or hard to drive speakers like PMC, ATC and Dynaudio which I have it running now. Arcam AVR400 in Grey/Black in excellent condition. Asking for $2000 or nearest offer. The unit is just under 2 years old and retailed for $3700. I am selling the unit because I am upgrading to a more expensive pre/power setup. The AVR400 features a toroidal transformer which is rare at this price. This also makes it excellent if you wish to use the amplifier for stereo listening. The unit is 7.1 channel. If you only have a 5.1 setup, you can BI-AMP your front speakers if your speakers are bi-wireable (4 terminals) The unit also has a DAB+ radio which is also rare to find on AV Receivers.
