Have been contemplating looking at the Once Analog turntable fitted with either an SME
V , SME 4 or Naim Aro and a Dynavector XX2, with a Dynavector P75 phono stage. What do people think? Has anyone had any experience with the Once Analog????
Not sure if our member Kramer was the reviewer in the Aus Hi-Fi article on this turntable. No, just checked the article here. It was Greg Borrowman. Kramer may have had a listen, though. Might be worth a pm.
Hopefully someone else here either has one or has auditioned one and can assist, remembering it is your ears that count.
Cheers

Hi Sam,
I have seen the turntable on Ebay, the motor controller runs off a 9Volt 1Amp plug-pack, (the control box converts AC to DC). To operate here in Australia it's only a matter of changing the plug pack to suit our voltage requirements.
The SME armboard appears hacked, to suit another brand of tonearm, it shows 6 mounting holes, the SME only requires 4, this can easily be replaced.
Regards, Vince
Sam, here is a picture of what an SME armboard should look like, VinceOnce Armboard012.jpg
Just for interest. I ended up getting this turntable for just under US$2,000 and I can tell you that I had absolutely no issue with MSS HiFi. Pretty quick full trackable shipping and item was really well packed. Table is in really good condition too. Vince from Once Analog has even been kind enough to replace / update some of the minor parts that have changed to bring it up to as new condition. (Thanks Vince)

hi Samman,
please let us known what you decide to buy. I also am buying the first ever TT . I hope receive the michell orbe and denon dl103 sa cartridge next week. I intend to buy sme serial 4 or 5 tonearm and run with my audio research ref 3. any suggestion about tonearm will be appreciated
I guess it's always best to be cautious when buying from the blackmarket (ebay). Once I get everything together I'll be doing a bit of a review on my blog at http://audioaddictionaustralia.blogspot.com/ I'll keep you posted on when it's ready.
Thanks,
TS
I might sound a bit boring but reckon a Rega p9 for( 6000k - 7000k) put a ortofon jubliee mc cartridge ($2000), Heed phono amp, cables. The remainder spend on vinyl. cheers and still dreaming!!!
Just some teaser photos of the Once Turntable. I'll be doing a full review soon. I can say this though. It is a damn nice table

I too went down the path of purchasing a Once Analog Turntable(Thank you Wolster for the initial recommendation). A big thank you to Vince Hamilton for his professional advice and outstanding service. The Turntable is not only of immaculate build and functionality it's also a beautiful piece of Art, elegant but at the same time current. Fit's in well with our decor (Mrs approves """Yes"""""). I'll include photo's and my first review as soon as I can. In the meanwhile a very big thank you to Vince once again. ....................................Now back to enjoying the music..............
