    Best EASY learning remote???

Need a learning remote to control one AV system (TV, amp, BD, Foxtel) - must be easy to set up and use. Anyone got any recommendations?

I use a Logitech Harmony, nosepeg. Cable into your computer, select your components from huge database, then enter activities e.g.Listen to CDs.
Works a treat. Various models available according to budget.

Harmony One, faultless and has lithium re-chargeable battery. Hunt around and you should be able to get one for $180 or so (I think rrp is around $400).

The Logitech Harmony series are great , we have been using a couple of the entry level ones for years and once setup there are simplicity itself to use.
Setting up the the first time can be a bit daunting but you just take your time and follow the wizard based system. There are plenty of hints and tips built into the wizard but if you get stuck you just call Logitechs Harmony support line and they will guide you.
    Great product and great service

Like evryone else says, harmony. Very high WAF. Different models depending how you like using it - one hand, two hand with big screen etc. I have a 1000i which is the two handed big screen jobby. Mrs_G likes the screen more than our old 880.

Yep, Harmony it is. We've got the Harmony One which is easy to set up and can be as basic or as all encompassing as you want it to be.

    +1 for the Harmony.

We have a 520, 525 and 785. All have been easy to set up and very reliable. WAF is extremely high as Mr_Gimlet says.

Wolster - I've not see the Logitech Harmony Nosepeg in action. Can you please explain its function?

Just in case there is any doubt - Harmony!

Can take a little time to set up initially and get your mind set right, particularly if you want to get the most out of them.

    I would not contemplate a mutli-box set-up without one.

Ta Gents - Harmony it is then - will do some hunting around...cheers, Nic.

I have a Harmony 785 but it has seen a lot of use in the three years or so and a couple of buttons are not playing nicely any more. It has been a superb remote for the most part, but I am wondering if any other people with the same model are experiencing similar things? It is the right-arrow button on mine that is most dodgy - annoying as it is the ad-skip one.

If there is nothing that can be done about it, what would be the best replacement that has the colour code buttons available?

Note to OP: I don't wish my experience to put you off the Harmony 785 - could just be we are heavy on the buttons, but the Harmony has been excellent for us - easily programmed (after a bit of practice) and easy to use.

    Cheers,

    Al.
