Had a chance to watch this in 3D on the weekend, graphics and special effects were very very good

Story was terrible, very cliche and reminded me of the Disney movie Pochahontas :P

Anyone else read about the rumous that Cameron plagiarised the story? The original novel is very similar, and the main character is also a paraplegic.

    Thanks,

I was trying to remember where I'd come across the plot before - haven't seen Vatar yet but I suspect that the Poul Anderson story was better - doesn't matter though since this is an audio-visual 'experience' rather than a story.

Saw the 3D today. I wasn't all that impressed after seeing the 2D. I still really enjoyed it, but I found the 3D made a lot of things lose focus. Like the thing that was suppsoed to be on focus was reall clear and awesome, but scenic shots lacked sometimes from lack of focus.

Still pretty cool though for my first 3D movie.

Had a mini GTG with Kamakazi today as he has had a thumb operation and it is out of action and he is home from work bored. Took him to see Avatar 3D. Went to an Events Vmax cinema. I have not been to the movies for years and I was impressed with great seats and digital projector 20m screen width BUT the Sub was struggling with many clipping sessions and resultant fuzzy effect. Pity but Stuff happens. Now back to the movie I give it the thumbs up I really enjoyed this movie and glad I broke the drought of movie going to see this movie. The plot was not earth shattering but hey its entertainment. I will be buying this on Blu to check out my system.

Three Titanics down! or is that three thumbs up?? Which ever one you like, Mr Cameron.

    They have talkies now! BR

PS Three thumbs down to OH&S for all the leds in the cinema to allow people to go to the toilet halfway through. But I did not miss much.

PS2 Anyone who has seem Fern Gully OZ film Circa 1994 will know the plot.

    hi

Finally got to see this yesterday in 3D. Enjoyed it, but it was a bit long. We liked the graphics, especially the transposing of our marine world into the terrestrial, to provide an alien feel. However the story line (and some of the graphics) was a bit like Duke Nukem meets Pocohontas.

    Cheers
