  1. Item: Oppo BDP-93 3D Blu-Ray Disc Player (With Region Free & Zone Select Hardware Modification) Location: Perth (pick up preferred) Price: $450 ono Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: Not being used Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: The BDP-93 is a 3D-capable Blu-ray player offering excellent video quality, capable of universal disc playback with both DVD-Audio and SACD included. As described in the title the BDP-93 comes with the Region Free & Zone Select Hardware Modification. I purchased it from new with plans to play more CD’s and SACD’s on a quality player however I found myself not using it very much choosing to stream high quality lossless audio through a dedicated music streamer and NAS. I didn’t even utilise it much as a DVD / Blu-Ray player either as I preferred to use my PlayStation 4 out of convenience. I was running out of space on the Hi-Fi rack so I only had it out for a few months before putting it back in it’s box for storage. The BDP-93 will come complete with all available documents as well as the original accessories, box and packaging. Pictures:
  2. Item: Rega RP1 Turntable White Location: Perth (pick up preferred) Price: $350 Item Condition: Mint Reason for selling: Upgrading Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: This is my first turntable which I purchased in October 2016. As is regularly mentioned around SNA, it is an excellent turntable for someone getting started in vinyl and I certainly credit the RP1 with kickstarting my own passion for vinyl. The cartridge is the Rega Carbon MM which is the stock cartridge that came with the turntable. As far as usage I would guess 5 hours and that is being generous given my very modest vinyl collection at this point (it's probably closer to 3 hours). With such low usage the condition of the RP1 is as new with maybe a few minor hairlines which are barely visible if I am being truly fussy. The Rega RP1 will come complete with all available documents as well as the original box and packaging. As mentioned above the only reason I am selling it is I am upgrading to a refurbished late 70s / early 80s model Technics SL-Q3 direct drive turntable. The Rega RP1 Turntable will surprise you with its sound quality and simplicity. Pictures:
  3. Peachtree/Parasound/Rotel.

+1 for the Parasound. While I don't have experience with the Parasound Halo Integrated Amplifier I have listened the Parasound P5 and A21 combination and was very impressed by the sound quality it gave for the money. Parasound equipment is also typically feature packed.
  4. 2nd Hand AV Receiver Thoughts

Thanks @powerav , really appreciate the link. Another hole in the wallet coming up!
  5. Balanced preamp with good phono stage

I'll be selfish and put forward what I currently have (as a spare). A Parasound P5 2.1 Channel Stereo Preamp. Is a Balanced Preamp with good MC Phono Stage. I personally think it's great value for money but happy to hear other opinions. I think it retails for around $2,195.
  6. 2nd Hand AV Receiver Thoughts

To be honest, I think it's the upgraditis and being surounded by too many SNA members hahaha. If I really take the time to think about it then given my current setup I don't really need to upgrade. The Denon AVR-3311 is the piece of equipment that I haven't ever thought about upgrading so maybe I feel it's being left behind while my other components are always changing.. At the risk of sounding ignorant, could you please tell me a bit more about Integra? I've predominantly always looked at Denon, Marantz and Yamaha. Am I right in the understanding that Integra is Onkyo's higher end electronics line and it's a case of similar specs but the use of higher quality components and longer warranty? Where would I be able look at the Integra refurb range? @:) al Appreciate your detailed reply Al, absolutely right about things not coming up for sale when you are looking! And yes I do sometimes forget this is a HIFI forum Interesting note on this. In the Parasound P5 Manual it says that when the P5 is turned off, the HT Bypass should automatically work however this does not work for me. When I have the P5 turned off, sound only comes out of my rear speakers. It is only when I have my P5 turned on and in the Bypass input that the system works as it should. Might be a topic for another post.
  7. Hey guys, been a member for a little while but looking to become more active on the forums. I currently have a Denon AVR-3311 which I bought years ago and while it's working well it happens to be the device which I haven't ever thought about upgrading. Currently my Denon AVR-3311 is connected (HT Bypass) to my Parasound P5 Preamp. I've noticed a couple things when reading through the forums about AVR's: Unless I've just plained missed them, I don't see many 2nd hand AV Receivers. Why is that? Is it because the advances in technology a minimal each year? AV Receivers don't seem to hold their value. Another by-product of companies flooding the market with product that has a minimal advances in technology? Will an AVR that supports Balance interconnects make a big difference? Thanks all.
  8. +1 for Spotify Connect. The CXN is the first device I have purchased with Spotify Connect and honestly the quality of sound and ease of setup is great. I've had a few speed problems with the Wifi (when using the Wifi wireless dongle) but that's no surprise given the fact that there are a few concrete walls in the way. I recommend Ethernet connection. Probably my favourite purchase so far given the fact that I use Spotify quite a bit.
  9. Hello guys, I've been a SNA forum reader for a while now but I think it's time to introduce myself. My name is Anthony and I consider myself a little new to the audiophile community though I have great advisors who are also SNA members. Monster cable is the best!
