  1. Headphone DAC/AMP with optical

An interesting option but I did notice it was quite a bit more expensive. I was hoping to know of any good quality alternatives which have optical but I always keep coming back to schiit!
  2. Headphone DAC/AMP with optical

Thanks for the suggestions. I did see this in the classifieds but I'm after the optical in as I have creative onboard sound which includes virtual surround sound which I use for gaming. So I'd run optical from the PC to the DAC/AMP to bypass the onboard DAC/AMP and just use the virtual surround sound features. The Schiit magni 2/modi 2 uber is looking like a pretty good option at the moment feature wise, just not sure if the sound would be right for me.
  3. Hi Guys, I'm looking for recommendations for an integrated DAC/AMP combo with optical in. This will be to use with my desktop PC. I'm looking at the schiit magni/modi combo but I've heard the magni is a little bright and sparkly. I currently have AKG K712 Pro and would prefer a dac/amp with a warmer, bassier sound which would tame any high end sparkle and bring out the low end. Looking to keep it under the $500AUD mark. Cheers.

Very comfortable to wear and come with a detachable cable. Comes with original box and accessories. Retail price is $379AUD. http://www.minidisc.com.au/headphones-earphones/open-headphones/philips-fidelio-x2-headphones-p-1100791.html Pictures:

  7. Item: Mingda MC66-AE headphone tube amp Location: Melbourne Price: $200 negotiable Item Condition: Perfect working order Reason for selling: Downgrading head-fi setup Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Mingda MC66-AE headphone tube amp for sale. This is a great desktop amp solution and will drive high impedance headphones easily. Has been a great match for my HD650 and Fostex TH-X00's. I'm only selling due downgrading my head-fi setup to move towards hi-fi. The input tube in this has also been upgraded to a mazda tube (12AX7). Head-fi review/thread here. Personally I have compared it to the Schiit Lyr 2 and found this to have more warmth and bass. Its a great value for money headphone amp. It's in perfect working order and comes with power and RCA cables. Price to buy new is 449GBP but only seems to be available in the UK at the moment. Pickup only from 3147 AH or 3006 BH due to weight (over 5kg). Pictures:

  9. Item: Beyerdynamic DT1770 Pro Location: Melbourne, pickup from 3006 BH, 3147 after hours. Price: $500 (firm) + post Item Condition: Excellent condition Reason for selling: Sidegraded Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Purchased these from Sime here on SNA about 2 months ago, he was the original owner. They are 4 months old. Usage over the 2 month period would be around 50 hours. I decided to try a pair of Fostex TH-X00 and this was a very tough decision to choose between the two. I've enjoyed the 1770's a lot and both similar bass and I honestly wish I could afford to keep both headphones. The DT1770's are slightly more analytical and mids are more forward while the TH-X00 have slightly more bass which at the end of the day is what I'm after, so after much deliberation I've chosen to stick with the TH-X00's. Come with original box, case, coiled and straight cable with trs adapters, pleather and velour earpads. Receipt can also be provided. They are still in excellent condition as I received them in. Specs can be found here: http://north-america.beyerdynamic.com/shop/dt-1770-pro.html Pictures:

In fantastic, like new condition. This comes with JJ Electronics E88CC Gold pin tubes. 230V with Australian plug. Comes with original box, foam inserts for safe postage, power cord and receipt. 12. Have you tried safe mode? From there you may be able to perform a system restore if they were enabled.
  13. Help Me Pick A Headphone

Also check out the Fostex TH-X00 on Massdrop these are meant to the one of the best bang for buck for bassheads and great for metal.
  14. Help Me Pick A Headphone

I am both a metal head and love techno, d&b and hip hop as well. I guess you could call me a basshead. I had the ATH-M50's for years and loved using them and didn't think it could get any better. I recently upgraded to the DT1770's as I found a pair 2nd hand on SNA which I am very happy with for metal and bassy EDM. Even though they are more of a neutral headphone the bass goes deep and hits hard. I compared them to the DT 770 80's and found the bass less detailed and bit muddier, haven't heard the ultrasones or the hifimans but I'm keen to compare the ultrasone pro 900's and signature DJ's soon.
