  4. FWIW a brand new DAC-2V2se is $3,799US -> ~$5,050AU before shipping + customs This DAC-2 DSDse is $2,200AU to your door. (And is a fantastic unit as is.) And with a trip to W4S it becomes a DAC-2V2se for $1,099US –> ~$1,460AU so total of ~$3,660AU Even with shipping to and from W4S you'll be getting the best DAC they make for at least $1,000AU less than rrp, likely a lot more (not sure what customs sting you for in Australia). But I leave for Melbourne tomorrow, so get in quick!
  5. Mr Darko has just chimed with some info on the V2 upgrades: http://www.digitalaudioreview.net/2017/04/wyred-4-sound-rattle-sabres-with-dac-2v2-dac-2v2-se/
  6. Item: Wyred4Sound DAC-2 DSDse Location: Dunedin, NZ but heading to Australia on April 8 and can ship from Melbourne (see note at bottom) Price: Item withdrawn from sale Item Condition: Excellent, no noticeable marks, from non-smoking, no pets household Reason for selling: Directstream Jr Payment Method: PayPal, bank transfer Extra Info: Incredible sound and solid build quality. Building on the well regarded DAC-2 this this unit is the fully souped up ’se' model with top-of-the-line components. Purchased from @tas1506 in 10/15. It has been to W4S for the femtoclock upgrade. During testing they identified and replaced an ‘out of spec' cap too. Price is what I paid + the upgrade. Comes with original double box carton, manual, standard power cable and remote. All contacts cleaned with DeoxIT. W4S recently announced it can now be upgraded to ‘V2’ with the latest reference ESS 9038PRO chipset via a trip to their California HQ. I would be doing this myself if I hadn’t already bitten the bullet on the Directstream Jr and I can’t warrant holding onto both DACs. These reviews do a good job of covering the features, operation and performance of the DAC-2: http://www.audiostream.com/content/wyred-4-sound-dac-2-dsdse http://www.positive-feedback.com/Issue76/wyred_dsddac.htm http://www.6moons.com/audioreviews/wyred9/1.html As mentioned in details I am based in NZ but am heading to Australia on April 8. If purchased before then I can bring the DAC with me to Melbourne and ship from there so no hassles with customs that way. If it sells after April 8 I will be in Australia until April 23 so it won't be able to be sent until I return and will obviously be more for shipping and customs. Pictures:
  7. Hi from Dunedin across the ditch

@@ThirdDrawerDown Thanks. It was a major event but luckily for us we're up a hill in Opoho. The DCC can't do much right in most people's books @@Musicislife Another format eh? Will be interesting to see if it gets traction. Hope the Regen works well for you.
  8. Hi, I'm Jimmy from Dunedin, New Zealand. There's been some interesting bits and pieces in the classifieds so I'm setting up an account so I can press the button when the urge strikes. I'm digital-centric currently using a Mac Mini running Pure Music => Nuforce HDP (USB) => Quad 11L active monitors. Mr DAR-KO has convinced me that the HDP shoudl be hooked up via SPDIF rather than USB so that's my next step. Cheers!
