  1. Further Information: Unfortunately, we have no space for two HT systems. I checked this the other day, I did think there was some burn-in on the lower right but don't see any now. 1080p and HDMI inputs. Such a great picture, it has a "glow" and tone that OLED (IMVHO) doesn't match, reminds me of the difference between film and digital. Needs to be used in a dark (or dim) room. I don't know if the RF input works as we don't get signal. Can demo with an Apple TV, or BYO laptop. I found one pair of 3D glasses but not sure if they work. The remote works fine. If you'd like to take it, prob easiest to leave a number in PM and I'll call to arrange a time. Thanks for looking, feel free to ask any questions
  2. Further Information: Hi, this is a lot of Aurasound NSW2-326-8AT “extended range” 2-inch drivers that I bought from PE in 2017 for an omni speaker project. Didn’t build it. I ran an impedance test on them when I received them and rejected one. The total number being sold here is 24 + 3 spares. (So what I’m saying is that, so I don’t have to retest them all, I’m selling 24 but throwing in a few extra in case any have a problem.) I can include 8 ikea salad bowls for the extra postage (separate box) if you want them. The four larger bowls will each fit six drivers I think. The four smaller bowls will fit one. Maybe 3, I’m not sure. The bowls are of course round on the inside, so there’s some fiddly manual work needed to accomodate the driver flanges and seal the hole. (The wood is soft though.) If you need a few more drivers for the small bowls I have some used ones in prototypes I can recover (additional cost). If using these to make an omni, I would suggest high pass these around 300 and use a bipole woofer underneath. Thanks, let me know if any questions
  3. Item: Speaker stands ***Gone, thanks! *** Extra Info: Been in storage for ages. They will need a little work: Will need rubber bumpers on one One has the spike at an odd angle. Not sure if it really needs to be fixed The other the spikes don't turn so may need some WD40 They are well made, reasonable weight. It seems that someone has put sand in them at some point as a bit comes out if tipped upside down. Height is about 66cm plus spike length. Top is about 16 x 17 cm. Pickup only thanks
  4. Further Information: Pair of Q Acoustics 3010i, bought new last July, in excellent condition. Retail is supposedly $399 but in reality they're permanently on special for $279. https://addictedtoaudio.com.au/products/q-acoustics-q3010i-bookshelf-speakers What Hifi called them "among the finest speakers you can buy for this money" - https://www.whathifi.com/q-acoustics/3010i/review. I'd say they're nice-sounding speakers with kindof a laidback sound. Obviously they're not high end but nice for the money. Would prefer local pickup but I do have the original box/packing so can ship at buyer's expense, for shipping estimates use 41 x 34 x 33 cm, 10kg estimated. Would be happy to pack up and provide exact quote given shipping address. Thanks, let me know if any questions
  5. Further Information: *** SOLD, thank you *** Hi, this is some Alphacore Goertz MI1 and MI2 speaker cable, unterminated. It’s mostly been sitting on the shelf for the last 20 years, I did use it for a while with leadouts just soldered roughly on, but between having amps that didn't like a capacitive load, me not knowing about Zobel networks, and going fully active, I mostly didn’t use it. Now I've got Speakons on everything and this is just not going to work with them... Time to pass it on. The wire has been damaged in some places which I have foolishly shown in detail in the photographs, but assuming you cut out the damaged parts you should end up with the following lengths: MI1: 140, 65, 25, 25 cm MI2: 415, 325, 80 cm I figured this would be good to make a pair of 3m+ cables and use the short lengths as an internal wiring upgrade for speakers. (?) Let me know what you think (even if you’re not interested in buying it!) The trim parts shown in the second photo are included. (I'm fairly sure the boots are not heatshrink, and I think the tubing probably is but I'm not going to test it, so no guarantees.) Also, you will want to read about Zobel networks. Rod Elliot has an excellent in-depth examination here: http://sound-au.com/cable-z.htm I’ll cut off the daggy ends to make packing easier. Pickup or buyer pays shipping. Considering a new 25ft (7.6m) length of MI2 would cost about AU$500 plus shipping from USA, I think this is probably a fair price.
  6. Further Information: *** SOLD *** This is a Virtue Audio ONE Tripath amp from about 2008-2009. It has the stock 24V 65W power supply. It’s working fine. These have always been q bit quirky. Let me just list everything. The input jacks have a tendency to come loose with use, I’ve tightened them up but the bottom one is hard to get to so it is possible it may come loose again with use. There's a small amount of noise if you put your ear near the speakers but it’s always been like this and I’d call it normal for this type of amp. The power light is very bright. The volume knob is very heavy so don't tilt the amp on its face or it will fall off. The chassis isn't quite a perfect fit and there seems to be a scuff along the top edge (which I never noticed until taking the photos). With all that said, it definitely has it's own charm, like the "propellor" posts, subwoofer output (which I've never used, I assume it works), weighty volume knob etc. Note that it does run a little warm. Any questions please feel free to ask

  11. Extra Info: I'm looking for 2m of Blue Jeans Cable LC-1 to make a phono interconnect. I know I can get it from BJC in Seattle but for small lengths the shipping is a bit horrendous. Wondering if perhaps anyone in AU has some left over from a rewiring project say. Looking for just 2m but let me know if you have more. Thanks
  12. *** SOLD, thank you *** Further Information: Hi, this is set of 12 Cardas CABE banana plugs. This is the old style two-part version as shown in the photo, there are still a couple of vendors with photos of this version. Not sure why it was changed... Any questions just let me know
  13. Further Information: *** SOLD, thank you *** Hi, this is a pair of Cardas CPBP CRS (short) single knob binding posts, unused. Clearing out old/unfinished projects. More information on the Cardas website here: https://www.cardas.com/binding-posts "Cardas patented binding post system uses smaller amounts of metal and eliminates threads on conductive sur- faces. The design sounds better and is CE compliant for EU import restrictions. Designed to be direct soldered. Posts accept 6.3mm spades but can accommodate 9mm also." Any questions just let me know

  15. Further Information: Hi, this is a pair of Cardas HPSC connectors to make a cable for Sennheiser HD600/650/6xx. Uhm... let me know if any questions
  16. Further Information: Great-sounding unit in very good condition, I've had no issues at all. Some marks on the top, see photos. Thought I would be keeping this one forever...! This is Yamaha's flagship processor from 2013, so the feature set corresponds to the state of the art back then. The audio quality, balanced outputs etc, don't change It originally retailed for $3900, the current model CX-A5200 is $4299. I've attached a screenshot from the manual with the I/O specs, the unit doesn't support Atmos but does support 4k. However there was a subsequent firmware update and I've confirmed that with the Apple TV, it works with 4k@50Hz in SDR but not HDR. I don't have a 4k Blu-ray player to test anything else. It's basically 7.1 but there are additional outputs to synthesize additional "presence" channels. You can find the documentation online here: https://au.yamaha.com/en/support/manuals/index.html?l=en&k=CX-A5000 3rd-party measurements here: https://www.audioholics.com/av-preamp-processor-reviews/yamaha-aventage-cx-a5000-mx/#toc-h2-7 Comes with remote and YPAO puck, original box/packaging. The remote has a bit of a mark on the top, see photo. At this price I'd give priority to a local sale but shipping can certainly be arranged as I have the original box. It's large, so Pack and Send is probably the best option. Let me know if any questions
  17. Thanks for all your research! Now I just need to find that buyer I forgot to do the remote shaky shaky thing last night, I've done that now and confirmed on the TV that it's 2160p. Another datapoint: the Apple TV is set to YCbCr with 4:2:0 chroma. If I set chroma to 4:4:4, no dice (at 4k@50Hz). However the ATV has a couple of "Match original content" setting. If I set it to match the frame rate, then Netflix "Ultra HD 4k" plays at 24 Hz with 4:4:4 chroma. There is however a blank period of 2-3 seconds while everything gets negotiated. (And I guess this is the reason the ATV interpolates to a fixed resolution/frame rate by default.)
  18. To confirm again, the Apple TV set to 4k@50 Hz SDR works through the CX-A5000. The HDFury Arcana says that it is "4K50 297 MHz 420 BT709 8b" It doesn't work with HDR and it doesn't work with 4k@60 Hz
  19. Yes, it's the 4k plan. The Apple TV is model A2843 (128GB) so.... yep HDMI 2.1. I did confirm 4k@50Hz by putting an HDFury Arcana between the CX-A5000 and the LG TV. There were some other letters/numbers but I don't remember them. It doesn't seem, in any case, that the ATV will output anything other than what you set it to, it seems that it converts everything to the specified resolution/rate. That's a neat trick on the TV, lemme see... OK that does show the resolution while playing video. I don't have the CX connected presently but will hook it up again later and try. Unfortunately I don't have a 4k Blu-ray player (or any 4k discs) to try. Oh, the link to the audio specs is unrelated to the HDMI discussion, just adding that information for anyone that might be interested in the unit I discovered yesterday that there's a phono input so I'll give that a whirl later also, it might be a decent 2ch preamp.
  20. Further Information: Musical Fidelity M1Vinl phono stage. Has had little use. Very flexible unit with adjustable loading for both moving coil and moving magnet cartridges. Has a few minor marks but overall very good condition. Let me know if any questions and I will try and answer...
  21. Item:Fire TV Cube Extra Info: ** TAKEN, thanks! ** Started skipping a while back and replaced with Apple TV . Can't in good conscience sell and don't want to spend days testing. Give it a try if it's of interest. Please, take for your own use only. No flipping. Because then, you... uh, you will have bad flipping karma If you'd like to pay for postahge, pse make a donation to wikipedia or red cross.
  22. I found some 3rd-party measurements here: https://www.audioholics.com/av-preamp-processor-reviews/yamaha-aventage-cx-a5000-mx/#toc-h2-7
  23. Hi, it was playing Netflix (Bladerunner 2049 iirc). Connected directly, no splitter etc, TV is LG C2. Maybe the Apple TV doesn't send the HDCP since the connected device doesn't support it? tbh I have no idea but surely they can't prevent every legacy device from working?
  24. I have to say, if the aim of the HDMI consortium has been to confuse the heck out of consumers, they have succeeded!
