I owned it for many years used to run it with an EAD Theatremaster for magic sound. I have since moved to computer replay. It has a sticky drawer sometimes needs a little help just with fingers pulling the first couple of mm's. Otherwise works great and is in pretty good shape for its age. Price $700.00 ps if your quick i can deliver to Sydney or between Noosa and Sydney on Wednesday/Thursday

  5. transformer and fuses arrived last week $93 bucks latter ($65USD) plugged in the new transformer easy to do took 15 mins...works perfectly still a bit warm to touch.
  6. Made contact with Benchmark they said maybe a power surge or wrong fuses...i emailed photos of the fuses....they said they could be some of the fuses that were missed by a recall.....still waiting for confirmation on that one.....new transformer $38 + $26 postage they said plug it in see what happens wont do any harm...so ill wait and see
  7. thanks the replies...its a 220v and the fuses are all blown... one day it didn't start after no trouble in 4 years...although in those 4 years it was only used as a DAC.......however recently i was using it as a pre amp for a perreaux 6000 (thats a bit long in the tooth)....can that be the issue does dc travel up the line from amps to pre amps....or is it one way. I'll check with Benchmark
  8. My Benchmark DAC has just died. I think it's the transformers protective coating looks a bit burnt. I have used this dac for a few years now and its always run hotter than my class A amp which i thought was a bit weird.... Anyway do any of you guys know of a good electrical technician near the Sunshine Coast QLD or Brisbane that could repair and maybe improve this already not to shabby DAC. Or is it worthit???? do a just get a new DAC?
  9. hearse great idea ....where do you rent them???..........i was thinking commodore wagon
  10. Thanks guys ...they're going in the car....cones facing up....and terminals bridged sounds interesting
  11. Hi Guys, I have a Question: Do i transport speakers standing up or lying down? I'm moving a pair of Duntech Crown Princes....over 1200klm Sydney to Noosa. A) If the removal company takes them they're standing up...... If i take them they're lying down back of a wagon........cones facing up or cones facing down? My thinking is lying down the up and down motion of the car the cones normal travel is preserved.
  12. I'll take the vodka thanks....
