    Hi flemo,
I noticed you used the Bradford SoundScreen batts for your acoustic panels. I grabbed a packet of these recently myself but have found that they are not ridged panels.
How did you go about mounting these in your frame?

Nice work on your panels by the way.. If I can get mine to look half as good as yours I'd be happy.

    hiya flemo!

bass traps are dead easy to build, and you're right, i've been promising a how-to guide for ages.. I am currently stuck at home with a cold, so now might be the perfect time to do that article!

will do that now I think

Hi Bevan, thanks for the tip, I'm still in two minds though, upgrade the TT or go the dac, I wish I had the money for both!! I guess I could look at trying a dac with my system and see how it performs? Cheers flemo.

    Hi Flemo
I think a dac offers a better upgrade for the money, or similar upgrade for less money than upgrading a stand alone CDP.
Hard to untangle the sound of my dac from my system. You said your dvd player is pretty long in the tooth so you shouldnt have to spend much to hear an improvement. The dac I'd suggest for an analogue lover is the Monica3

Thanks for the offer. I've now replaced the SET amp with a SS and am far happier, so not so much need for a second amp now. I will be looking for a tube amp in the near future though, one with 16ohm taps, but the Accuphase wouldnt fit that bill, so lets see what others might be able to drag along. Thanks though.
No turntable, hadnt thought about that as dont have phono stage, but would love to hear one in my system one day. I seems a bit much to ask of anyone to bring a TT along, but if it would interest you it would of course be great. Though I dont know if I want to know what I'm missing
I should have thought of soft drinks too, I'll have a big bottle of coke too, will probably stick to it myself lest I blow up my new drivers with all the swapping of cables that will be going down.

Hi Bevan, I am curious how the PS1 sounds but I don't have a DAC either, so I'll have to wait a while before I'll be able to try it.

The GTG sounds good but if I can't make it I will definetly arrange to come over for a listen.

I have a tablesaw at home, which is good for small stuff but not really flash for big or full sheets, as you need a full panel saw for square quality cuts. Depending on what your cutting list is for your project, I may be able to help you out with some cutting? If you forward me your cutting list I'll be able to let you know.

    Cheers, flemo.

    Hi Flemo
All good this side. Glad to hear you got something, B&W a pretty safe bet I reckon. I'm still enjoying the Bastanis but also recently got some Feastrex fullrangers to play around with. They do sound good, but I'm not sure yet if I'll keep them or the Bastanis. I posted something yesterday about a GTG in the upcoming weeks so if youre keen for a listen watch that space, or vistit any time. Still need to get the ply cut, hopefull this Thursday if Morgan Timber can do the major rips, then I'll do the rest at home or take the pieces to Fremanshed for routing etc.
The PS1 is either the SCPH-1001 or 1002 depending if fron States or Europe. I'm not using mine now as the gain is too low for the new less sensitive drivers (with 2 watt amp on audiophile recording) so youre welcome to borrow it for a few weeks if you want to ceck them out. cheers
    Bevan
