    Hi Alan

    Fancy finding you here.

In the past I used to go to your TA-E9000ES/TA-N9000ES website to get technical information.
It is very informative, and very helpful to my work.
The designer of both these machines Takashi Kanai likes it a lot too...

I am in Perth till 28th June. Staying around the Gosnells area.
    Incidentally, I have a SCD-XA333ES connected to a STR-V555ES driving a pair of Sony SS-AL5 speakers.

Did you ever heard about the issue of the "default 2-ch/m-ch play mode" on Sony SACD players?

Drop me a line if you are not too busy.

    My email: jeromesang@hotmail.com

    Regards

    Hi Alan,

I'm pretty new to stereonet. I've been a regular poster on Audiocircle and didn't know this site existed until a few months ago. Audiocircle is a great site but it is dominated by folks from the US.

Pat from War Audio is currently on holidays and when I get to catch up with him I'll let you know what needs to be upgraded.

    Thanks for your help.

    Regards

    Rod

    Hi Rod,

No problems. I was kind of suspecting it was a component count for each amp. I'm still quite happy to change the components for you. Let me know when you want it done. I live in the North Perth area near Bulwer and William Streets.

    Cheers,
    Alan

    Hi Alan,

I thought I'd send you a pm and provide you with some further details. I should have been clearer with the modification. The 5 resistors and 2 capacitors relate to 1 board in the amplifier. Currently I use 2 N.E.W. 20.1's as monoblocks. I bought these a few months ago off audiogon and they are 240v version. Pat from War Audio has increased the biase of both amplifiers but they operate a bit hot now and I can actually feel the raised temperature in my room. I think they must operate at about 60 C now. Pat is on holidays at the moment and on his return I'm going to get him to reduce the biase settings and find out what resistors I should change. Pat was the dealer for these amps until the company went bust in 1999. I've wasted a lot of money on other amplifers which didn't have the sound that I wanted.

I live in Thornlie and I was wondering if you would like to have a look at the amplifier to make sure that it wouldn't be too painful to work on.

    Thanks

    Rod Gittos
