Long time lurker, first time poster here. I've been doing a lot of reading on this forum for the past few months. A couple of weeks ago I took my first plunge into audio by purchasing some Jamo E680s with matching subwoofer and centre channel from a.dent in the classifieds (who was an absolute gentleman and was very patient with me - thanks Andrew!).
Before that, I bought a vintage Kenwood KA 3500 from Dave (Pops110) and upon hooking up the front speakers to this amp, really liked the stereo sound coming out from the two speakers. However I'd like to start moving onto an AV Receiver which will allow me to hook up the centre channel and subwoofer, keeping in mind that these speakers altogether cost me $400 dollars.
After doing a lot of digging around, a Denon 3806 has popped up on gumtree and the man is willing to sell it to me for $450.
However, I'd like to get everybody's opinion on whether this is overkill/not enough for the system of if I should be looking in a totally different direction.
What do you guys think? Looking forward to hearing from you guys!
Thanks,
Justin
