About Me

I "got into" HT when I was working down in Tassie for 2 years.  Awesome place but shocking weather for a north Queenslander so I decided I needed an alternative hobby to fishing.  I tried drinking and that worked OK for a while but I eventually discovered I could balance that 50/50 with HT (they go very well together).  With HT came my first pair of decent speakers (still not high end but decent) and then a decent amp and then I realized just how ordinary my Bose series IV 501s actually were, and the 301s I was using for rears weren't much better.  So the speakers went and things changed and I moved back to Qld, and then North West Qld, and then north Qld all the while trailing speakers and receivers behind me as I went.  Finally I got a bit sick of trying to get 5.1 running "just right", it just didn't seem to be exciting anymore, so I downgraded to 2 channel.  And then the integrated amp addiction kicked in, and the realization that all cd players don't quite sound the same, and the same for ICs, and speaker wire.
So now I fiddle about, listen to the same albums time after time through different amps and with different cables, and just generally pass the time as a small stack of amps grows steadily in the corner.
