PSB Imagine T2

13 May 2013 - 05:59 PM

Anybody have a pair of these? They look interesting enough. I want to have a listen to a pair. I heard the Synchrony and enjoyed them. Hoping there is a trickle down effect with the technology in the Imagine series.

Does anybody have any good experiences with Solar companies in Brisbane? I have just started looking and the pricing varies quite a lot. Probably looking at up to 5kw unit.

REW Measurements with NAD M51 & M Audio Fast Track Pro Ultra & ECM8000

09 May 2013 - 03:58 PM

Hi everyone.

I had a play with my REW today.

I figured out some settings that could benefit those that do not have a dedicated preamp.

Basically with REW, you assign your soundcard - In my case a Fast Track Ultra Pro from M Audio as to what inputs you will use for input(recording) and output(playback). Then you calibrate and use for measurements. It sends test sweeps and tones via the output and records them at the same time at the inputs.

With my old system, I assigned output on the MAudio via 6mm jack to stereo RCA and fed into preamp for output.

I use a M-Audio Fast Track Pro Ultra with Behringer ECM8000 and calibration file to record the signal. So the M-Audio did input and output.

Now with my new system, the NAD is the DAC/Pre and it feeds amps directly. This means no analogue inputs though.

I played around and assigned the Fast Track Pro with mic to record and the NAD M51 to send the signal. They are both connected via USB2.

Java plugin allows this. Sounds simple enough and it actually works :)

The Wonder Years

An old song made me think of this TV series. It was one of my favorite tv shows when growing up.

Who else (admits to) remembers it?

Dedicated power line

03 May 2013 - 06:50 AM

Looking at getting dedicated power line(s) installed at the new house.

Any tips as to what I should be getting done?

I am considering getting multiple lines installed if they provide an improvement over a single run.
