Anyone planning a GTG soon?

Last week I held a mini GTG, well a phono Phest really, during the proceedings Grumpy suggested that the bass at my listening position was muted compared to off axis seating positions.

Answer? move the heavy coffee table located in the middle of the room.

It is now located off to one side albeit in the way for safe passage, but hey, audio nirvana overrules everything else right.

Bass is phenomenal, not overpowering, but just right as it should be.

Just popped out and noticed some signs dotted around indicating that there is a Record Fair in my area today, thought I would put the info up here for all those on the dark side could get their fix.  There is a sign pointing down my street (Terrigal Drive) so it can't be far from Chez Batty.

This is the CCT of the pre preamp I am thinking of building, could anyone inform me what would be reasonable components to use, not values but type.

I know different types of caps etc. in certain paths alter the sound, but don't know which to use where.

The components are:

Q1 2n4401

Q2 2n4403

R1 100k

R2 330k

R3 & R4 1M

C1 0,1 microfarad

C2, C3 & C8 100 picofarad

C4, C5, C6 & C7 100microfarad

I'm reading on other music forums that Alvin Lee has died at 68.

Anyone confirm this?
