#886369 Active Crossover with Passive Speakers+ Sub?

Posted by automated on 07 May 2013 - 03:28 PM

You could go for a Pre-amp with a built in crossover, the Emotiva XSP-1 has stereo sub outputs with no AD/DA conversion. http://shop.emotiva....s/products/xsp1

The MiniDSP is very cheap and worth a try, you'll have no problem re-selling it if it doesn't work out.

Thatcher is remembered as The Iron Lady only because she possessed completely negative traits such as persistent stubbornness and a determined refusal to listen to others. Every move she made was charged by negativity; she destroyed the British manufacturing industry, she hated the miners, she hated the arts, she hated the Irish Freedom Fighters and allowed them to die, she hated the English poor and did nothing at all to help them, she hated Greenpeace and environmental protectionists, she was the only European political leader who opposed a ban on the Ivory Trade, she had no wit and no warmth and even her own Cabinet booted her out. She gave the order to blow up The Belgrano even though it was outside of the Malvinas Exclusion Zone - and was sailing AWAY from the islands! When the young Argentinean boys aboard The Belgrano had suffered a most appalling and unjust death, Thatcher gave the thumbs up sign for the British press. Iron? No. Barbaric? Yes. She hated feminists even though it was largely due to the progression of the women's movement that the British people allowed themselves to accept that a Prime Minister could actually be female. But because of Thatcher, there will never again be another woman in power in British politics, and rather than opening that particular door for other women, she closed it. Thatcher will only be fondly remembered by sentimentalists who did not suffer under her leadership, but the majority of British working people have forgotten her already, and the people of Argentina will be celebrating her death. As a matter of recorded fact, Thatcher was a terror without an atom of humanity. — MORRISSEY

#842977 PC Audio Suggestions - Simple Guy

Posted by automated on 11 February 2013 - 01:13 PM

All my digital music is stored on a Mac Mini in either .mp3, .aac or .alac (lossless). I use iTunes to stream to multiple airport express units around the house, you can control this with either the mac mini, iPad or iPhones. I have an airport express hooked up to a Dac via optical on my main system. It is very simple to operate and for me the quality is excellent.

How about an option that turns "YMMV" into "Your mileage may vary" etc automatically in line with the post?

Hmm. Perhaps not the best idea to post bank and address details in public.

IMO, ALL classified business should be done by PM ONLY

Of course I didn't mean personal details. Once an offer is made and accepted of course pm would be used.

I can recommend the BK Electronics XXLS400, it's a 12" active sealed sub. It costs about $800 delivered to Australia from the UK.

#830206 What is the best way run a Ipod into a Vintage receiver.

The iPods do have an adjustable maximum volume limit, check to see if that has been set too low.

#788552 The CD and other physical media to comeback - My theory

Posted by automated on 31 October 2012 - 11:31 AM

Another vote for CDs.
My very limited experience in downloading was a friggin' nightmare. By the time the HD tracks had downloaded, then I downloaded some software to convert from FLAC to WAV, then formatted the files to burn to a CD, took hours!!!!. An excercise in frustration.
And after all that, the Accuphase CD player won't play the disc!!!!. Lucky I have other players available.
Long live CDs :thumb:

You're doing it wrong. The whole point of moving to file based playback is to avoid cd players. It's almost as bad as printing out an ebook.
