Shaggyshan
Good morning, I'm keen to explore the possibility of DIY acoustic treatments. Does anybody know of where I can find a 'for dummies' guide on how to determine where panels will need to be placed and also how to build the panels? I've been lead to believe that for bass traps DIY is not the best option and ideally I should just buy some professionally made ones, is this true? Guest Willow
G'day there Shan , a lot of info on this topic available via the net and this site https://www.gearslutz.com/board/studio-building-acoustics/610173-acoustics-treatment-reference-guide-look-here.html is one that has served me well in finding a solution to some of the issues I had. While DIY isn't for everyone the end result after some study and careful planning , great results can be obtained. The room acoustics sub-forum here on SNA is also a useful tool which is more relative to DIY products available in Australia. Good luck.
