Scarguts
I need to replace my ancient NAD 7120 Receiver and would like to modernise. Can anyone suggest a single unit that would give me: Stereo am/fm receiver (natch) but with phono, digital radio and ethernet. A two unit combo may have to do if I can't find one box to rule them all. I don't need much power for my small efficient speakers and would like not to break the bank but hell it's only money right? Thanks in advance for any suggestions or alternative options..

Janjuggler
Hi Marantz NR1605, need a phono only, but usually stand alone phonos are better than built in at this price point, ~ $1000 to $1200. awty
I bought my NAD 7120 Receiver in 83, was part of my first hifi, great unit, yours obviously lasted longer than mine. If the budget is really tight you could look for a secondhand AV unit and a separate phonostage.

I want to use my current rack and many AV receivers are HUUUge but if I can find something with all my wants except the phono input then I think a separate small pre-amp may be a solution. Checking the combos is making my head hurt! PS My Thorens turntable bought with the 7120 is still with me.
Scarguts
http://www.naimaudio.com/product/range/uniti Well I did say it's only money. How nice is that?. More than I thought just looking at cost. (Beady eyed wife!) But food for thought, thanks for the lead.

betty boop
dab+ in a receiver is going to limit choices severely. only brands am aware of including DAB+ receivers are ARCAM and yamaha. nad might be a possiblity if they have a plug in module in their upgradeable units. eg, yamaha RX-V500D http://au.yamaha.com/en/products/audio-visual/av-receivers-amps/rx-v500d_g/?mode=model or RX-S600D http://au.yamaha.com/en/products/audio-visual/av-receivers-amps/rx-s600d_g/?mode=model Arcam AVR450 http://www.arcam.co.uk/products,FMJ,AV-Amplifiers,avr450.htm or AVR750 http://www.arcam.co.uk/products,FMJ,AV-Amplifiers,avr750.htm onkyo definitely sold a plug in module for DAB+ at one stage, might still be available for their av receivers. ex brickie
Where in Aus can you get a DAB+ signal anyway? I've just arrived in Townsville QLD from the UK and cant pick up a single DAB station.... . Are DAB signals/channels ever likely to arrive here? Where do I find the plans for DAB rollout in Aus? betty boop
just check the below for reception, http://www.digitalradioplus.com.au/index.cfm?page_id=1003 or more specifically the coverage maps if DAB+ is available in your area, http://www.abc.net.au/reception/radio/dr_coveragemaps.htm its only available in select capital cities at present. consider it with reception like FM...ie centred around capital cities. the governemt has been draggin its heels for years now on the solution for areas beyond this. in regards roll out, can read below, http://www.communications.gov.au/radio/digital_radio/rollout_of_digital_radio_in_australia

Scarguts
Thanks for all your suggestions. In case you were wondering one box proved too hard at my budget. I went for a Marantz streamer NA7004 and separate amp. We are still getting to know one another but so far I'm quite impressed.
