Voltaire
Well yes you may say and probably will, "I bit behind the times Volatire" and you would be correct. After all since 1778 I have had a lot of reading, listening and movies, as you call them, to see citizens. Well I have just watched "DEATH PROOF" and I must say it is the best thing QT has done since Pulp Fiction! amazing, and I would like Zoe the 'Kiwi's' phone number if anyone has it, HOT!!!!!! V
jimdgoulding
Well, yeah, but I am so disappointed in this wanker. Thought Pulp Fiction was one of the most original and fascinating movies I've ever seen! Positively brilliant! Thought Reservoir Dogs was a prelude to the man's genius. So did Hollywood else Pulp may not have gotten made. He wrote True Romance which you should see if you haven't. Then the guy got carte blanche in Hollywood and what does he come up with? Kill Bill? In two Parts? Made him a fortune while he was on a creative vacation. Jackie Brown was good, IMO. Then, turdsville. I don't find fault with him for indulging his success, I suppose. Well, selfishly, I do. I expected better. Like when he was hungry. He spoiled me.
little blue penguin
I've enjoyed everthing that QT has done, although I prefer him behind the camera as opposed to in front. Haven't seen Death Proof, so another delight to savour some time soon. Thanks for the heads up V.

Tony M
I don't know what's wrong with me. I watched the last 3/4 of pulp fiction on Fox the other night and I just plain didn't like it. Yes, there's a degree of interest in the bizarre premises of the movie but overall it just didn't grab me. Bloody messy too:mad: I read the critics' opinions on MRQE and it was clear I'm out of kilter with popular opinion. But those critics failed to explain what was good about this movie that I missed. Maybe I should get out more:rolleyes: Cheers Tony Having worked in casualty/emergency, albeit over 30 years ago, I'm not particularly upset by blood, guts and violence. However I don't like it and I don't see it as entertainment. PS I didn't like Forrest Gump either....
Andythiing
Tony whatever you do dont watch Death Proof, Reservoir Dogs or bsically any other of his films as violence and blood and gore feature heavily. I must be a sadistic bastard as i love all of his owkr and thought Death Proof was great. I was a big fan of the Kill Bill movies and still like to dress up in a trak suit and get out my sword for fun! I am a fan 4 sure!

Fuzzylogic
Must say that I have enjoyed all his movies ... Jackie Brown was the only one I was lukewarm on but maybe I just didn't 'get it'. Thought both movies on Grindhouse: Planet Terror (Robert Rodriguez) and Deathproof (QT) were a hoot .. the fake movie ads were an extra delight too Just love QT's expertise in handling dialog. Super Mustud
Just watched Kill Bill again after about 7 years (I know, as I have the receipt from when I bought the dvd). Hey, that is one great movie! Surprised how much I had forgotten in it. Now I am going to have to do all the QT movies all over again!
soundfan
Good to see this thread back from the dead. I love Tarantino films, and rate Django Unchained, his latest, as right up with the best of them.
Soundscape
What I like about Tarantino films is that they are all homage. The only trouble I have with his period pieces is the incongruity of the music with the period, like in Inglourious Basterds. A minor quibble, though. He is a master of dialogue tension, which is another throwback to classic film-making.

Gee Emm
Massive QT fan... My fav movie director. IMO Kill Bill is pus, but every genius bombs out now & then, I guess. QT movie original cinema posters go for premium money. I just paid too much $ for an original double-sided Django cinema poster. A couple of years ago I think I may have also paid a premium for the Grindhouse: Planet Terror/Deathproof poster, but I did tell my wife it "was a bargain." It's the one on the left. Guest JohnA
QT rocks i recall watching an interview where he said, in one of his scenes, a chocking scene, he wanted to do it for real... choke the woman to get the real expression on here face. Now thats dedication, and a sign the man is a little sick....my kind of guy

soundfan
He's a bit of a one trick pony though don't you think? I suppose so. Tarantino films generally contain lots of blood letting, great dialogue and an excellent music score. What more do you need?

An irrepressible urge that forced me to turn on the projector, pour a whisky and make a couple of Nespressos (the Crealto and Lungo Forte for those hanging on to recommendations) and just veg out. Had to do a little gardening between them to keep sane, but a great afternoon. Rehab Blondie, I thank you.
