valvedude Posted September 9, 2014 Author Share Posted September 9, 2014 (edited) the field coil was open circuit on the speaker it should read about 2500 ohms i removed the bobbin and found the wiring was all rotten refitted new cotton covered cable and wrapped the coil is the choke for the power supply and it makes the magnet for the speaker this bobbin slide onto a round shaft witch then has a 2nd coil that sit in front this coil is called the hum bucker coil its wired in series with the output transformer its job is to canal out hum etc Edited September 11, 2014 by valvedude 4 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

valvedude Posted September 11, 2014 Author Share Posted September 11, 2014 so i will be removing the ordinal output tube and circuit output tube was a 41 i will use a 6V6 and new circuit the rectifier is getting an eviction notice as well will replace with A 5y3 the 2A3 duplex diode high mu triode is bugged so i will be replacing with a 6B6 same valve different socket so i will have to fit 3 octal sockets 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
