Just thought I would share this info I found tonight on the new Wilson speaker called the Alexia.

The Alexia is supposed to be released Fall 2012. The Wilson Audio Alexia is a new model positioned above the Sasha, and below the MAXX.

Alexia Teaser Final - YouTube

Preliminary information:

The Alexia's form factor resembles the Sasha; its footprint is similar to the Sasha, and it is slightly taller. The Alexia features three modules to facilitate micro adjustments in the time-domain for all three driver groups, the woofer, the midrange and the tweeter. High frequencies are handled by a revised version of Wilson's newest driver, the Convergent Synergy Tweeter. The critical mid frequencies are handled by Wilson's acclaimed midrange driver. For the bass, Wilson developed two entirely new drivers, an eight-inch and a ten-inch. As with the MAXX Series 3 and the Alexandria XLF, speed, bass extension, and authority are optimized with this carefully tuned staggered-two-woofer approach.

Full technical details are supposed to be included in a press release scheduled for September 15, 2012.

Could be a great speaker. Looking forward to learning more...

spotted this one a couple of days ago mate and i must say, loving the look of it.

between the sashas and maxx3 it wont be cheap..I'd estimate around $50k

Still if its as they say, should be a brilliant speaker

The Alexia looks like a step in the right direction for my taste. If it sounds similar to the XLF (and it has the silk dome tweeter) it should be a winner and could easily become Wilson's biggest selling speaker of all time...

Doub it, far too expensive for that.
The WATT/Puppy is the highest selling and we must remember it's original price was much less than it's current RRP.

Well it looks like pricing begins at $48500 in the US … seems high but not out of reason.

At 55 - 60k, it’s getting into an area where a number of other excellent speakers reside. I would be real interested to hear your "compare/contrast" between the Sasha and the Rockport.

It will be too hard to compare the 2 George.
I thought i knew exactly how different the sashas were to the sgrs when i first put them in my room, but then, once the SGR's came back in, i was way off the mark. They were completely different speakers, yet i thought there were only a few different things about them.

So yea, no comparing, i will go by what i think if the rockports and if they are to my taste.

If i am still in the market when the alexias are released. I will audition them, as by that time i dare sau i may have saved more pennies. (that is if i dont spend it all in other areas) :)

You are spot on though, at $60k, the playing field opens up greatly and there are many fine speakers in that price bracket. Not sure i want to spend that much on speakers either to be perfectly honest. But never say never

Australia does have freight, customs/duty uplift and get which ends up being close to 20% all up.

the UK has freight as well and GST is 20%.

TT, I appreciate what you are saying, & I assume that 20% would be on the wholesale cost.  I just think local pricing should be a little more realistic, B&W were able to chop $7k off the 800Diamond in one hit, no doubt market forces, and no doubt still plenty of profit.  Anyway I don't want to derail the thread on a subject discussed plenty before.

No. Ends up being of the price paid, not wholesale cost. That is what gst is.

BTW, I agree that the price is still a bit high. Then again, the Wilson speaker crates are huge.  with the 20% uplift for Aust, it is still around 5-6k more expensive than the US. The USA has a distinct advantage thou, as retailers buy direct from Wilson. Outside of the USA, distributors are involved and they need $$ to stay in business as wel and that is perhaps where the 5-6k goes?

B & W have been shafting consumers for years ever since they moved manufacturing offshore to China without cutting prices by 50%. Yes, I know the top of line is still assembleod in the UK.

Wilson , Rockport, Magic are not offshored anywhere.

@yamaha man: I don't think I would invest this much on Alexia, I found website in Asia audiosonha.com, they have Alexia for approximate $42.5k, Sasha $26k..... So I guess they have much lower whole sale price from Wilson Audio.

just remember to factor in your 2% currency exchange rate, your insurance cost for marine insurance, 5 % import duty, 10% gst  and no local warranty along with the ire of Wilson audio when you lodge the warranty certificate.
