Picked up my new Musical Fidelity M1 ViNL phono today and have just hooked it all up.

I'm off now to play some tunes and have a fiddle with things.
Will post my initial thoughts a little later tonight.

Just a quick question to those more knowledgeable than me:
The MF has seperate inputs for either MM/MC carts, so does this mean I could hook up two turntables-one M/M and one M/C? The MF has all the relevant controls on the front panel which makes life easy.

Cheers all.

And props to Victor at Stereophonics for some exceptional service.

if it has seperate inputs then i am sure you could hook up both at the same time and just use the selector buttons to chose between them.

You sure can Sean. Just select The MM or MC button on the front panel as well as the appropriate loading / capacitance settings.

Two dedicated inputs is good. I see it has universal voltage as well

Enjoy

Congrats on the purchase Sean

Glad it will be appreciated. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

So how does it sound?

Straight out of the box , and it sounds pretty good, but could sound a little better. Having said that, I think it needs a few hours logged up to make some real evaluations.

Be interested to see how it compares with the GCPH

At this very early stage in proceedings for the MF it has so far performed very well indeed. One thing I have noticed at this early stage is that it is very detailed, something the PS GCPH was also very, very good at. The bass in the MF seems to be a little behind the PS GCBH, but it is still early days yet and I would expect that the MF will improve overall given a little more burn in time.

Will update as I put more hours on this little beauty.

Cheers.

It has been a few late nights getting a some much needed hours up on the MF phono. It certainly has benefited from some 'burn in' time. I am liking what I hear so far.

The PS Audio GCPH has some competion methinks!

Will update on Sunday evening after getting a few more hours up on the MF.

Goodnight gentlemen and ladies.

Thanks for the listening impressions, I have been waiting to hear from someone who has one of these. They seem to be a very well featured phono stage that is well reviewed.
