Here is the email:
This is Tim, the founder of Pandora.
I’ve waited seven long years to say these words…hello Australia!
Welcome to Pandora’s personalized radio service! You can’t imagine how delighted we are to be able to start streaming Pandora into Australia.
Pandora is a new kind of radio that is personalized just for you. We combine the musical knowledge of the Music Genome Project and your own feedback to create the best possible stations we can for each listener. So make sure you use the thumbs. The more you tell us about the songs you like and don't like, the better your stations will get.
This is a beta launch of Pandora in Australia. There's much more to do to enable the full breadth of Pandora's capabilities to Australia (including such things as a mobile app for smartphones), but we didn't want to wait any longer. So stay tuned. In the meantime, we LOVE feedback. So please, tell us what you think, about anything from features, to the music that plays, to the music we’re missing. This is your radio and we want to hear from you to make sure we get it right.
We hope you enjoy the experience.

Only 64k AAC+ on free accounts doesn't sound very good though - i'm sure it was better than that way back in the early days... There used to be a good plugin for MythTV for Pandora which I'll have to try to find again.

Hmm I'd only be looking at using the squeeze.. I thought I read up that there was an app for it or was that for overseas users??

192kbps is a bit of a downer though...

Created a Deep Purple station and it's throwing up some odd music I have to say ehe. I don't mind the Hollies i.e in small doses but why it would pop up on a Deep Purple station leaves me a little bemused.
Just heard something from someone called Buckethead, not heard him before but didn't mind it so got a thumbs up.
Since this is playing through my SB etc etc what is the advantage of paying for Pandora? Don't need it on the phone or desktop, so what gives?

Tried it the other night. For it range, this service is vastly inferior to MOG or Spotify. Also the audio quality is poor and from what i could see you cant really select individual tracks from and an album, however i have only just looked into it. I am just loving listening to all the music on MOG which I'm just too familiar with to go out and buy on cd.
George, I am discovering that they are all different. Pandora is very much like Last FM. It allows you to build personal radio stations based on your taste in music.
Type in a favourite artist and it will play a song from that artist and then similar music from other artists. You can click on the 'thumbs up' and 'thumbs down' buttons to refine the tracks selected. It is a great way to discover new music.
If you want to listen to an album or particular track then Spotify or Grooveshark are more suitable. I haven't yet tried MOG so can't comment.

I recommend Pandora as an alternate radio station. Been using it for nearly two months now. Just name your style of music by an artist/album or the like and away you go.

I don't see why people listen to MP3.
It destroys your hearing!
Because it makes us tension free for a few moments.
