anyone tried the lampi usb (level 4 or even 3)?
is the spdif with off ramp better or is this dac one where the off ramp effect is not as obvious?
cheers

I would not bother with going straight into USB input with the Lampizator. I believe you'll get better results via jkenny going into the Lampizator. That way you'll have the best of breed. Best dac and best spdif converter.
Heavily modified Audionote Soro push pull. Audiovector mi3 signature speakers. Jkenny mk3 USB to spdif converter. Lampizator dac level4 plus. Elijah audio USB cable out from acer i3 laptop. Software Jplay. Ps audio power regenerator p10. Audio note silver speaker and interconnects. leema antilla cd player. Svs subwoofer, integra dtr8.8 and Jvc rs40 projector.
Leema pulse mk2. Previous equipment: epos m12i, epos m16i (very underrated), arcam alpha8.
Very very poor experiences with Secher av, Dallas Clarke audio repairs, Focus Sound and Vision Richmond.
Empty bank account.

I have a Lampizator level 3.8 and it sounds awesome especially when fed from a battery-powered AP2, can't really say anything about jkenny since I've never heard it...

The Lampi's usb implementaion is connected via i2s, and uses an EXD board:

http://lampizator.eu...hp?productid=65
Which is also the same board he uses in his tubed usb to spidif converter and Sonore use for their dac:

I would say its pretty good, especially because of the way its connected (i2s), but alas i have never heard one, so from me its just hearsay

`The Lampi's usb implementaion is connected via i2s, and uses an EXD board
The module is asynchronous, and galvanically isolated from 5V USB power
Some good design points there. By avoiding SPDIF it might just reach the potential of an Offramp with cost saving.

Its a lot cheaper than an offramp as an option in the DAC, but the OffRamp is fungible and so more versatile.
It requires some thinking.
