Hi folks,

Last year (or maybe it was the year before?) I hosted an info session with highly regarding mastering engineer Neville Clark, at his Disk Edits studio.

It was a great success, I'm pretty sure everyone had a great time! I'm in talks with Disk Edits to do another one, I'm thinking maybe July. There would be a small cost involved to cover Neville's time - don't worry it will be well worth it. His studio is definitely a sight to behold.

I'll get some dates from Disk Edits and see what will work best for us.

I was thinking this time around we could come up with a set of questions or things/points we want to learn about, to give some structure to the evening and guide the conversation.

So what would you guys like to learn/see/hear?

One area that I think would be interesting to clarify is how different genres music get produced (e.g. rock, electronica, classical et cetera)? The same values for all, or something unique for each? Actually seeing a track being mastered (and other post production steps) would be cool as well.

If we get 10 people, cost will be $10 each. If we are under 10, cost will be $15. Vitruvian, if you do wish to attend I'll cover your cost, since you're coming from interstate!

It will probably be starting between 5 and 6pm, and going for a couple of hours. The studio is located in a street just behind the Governor Hindmarsh.

What's the earliest time you guys could get to the studio? Just negotiating a time now. Disk Edits have pretty much said the earlier the better, obviously some people will be working during the day though.

yes, 5.20 pm is about right to get to Port Rd (Guv Hindmarsh) for me. Not earlier though.

Not long to go now - I'm aiming to have a starting time of 6pm. I'll let you guys know if it changes. Apologies Show - the current date is locked in.

I'll be writing up a question sheet/guide to the evening for Neville in the coming days so now's the time to let me know any questions for Neville or what you hope to get out of it.

Very sad to miss out on this. Very sad indeed. Oh well. I'll be in Melbourne visiting HiFi specialist stores and I heard that they too have beer over there. I guess all is not lost.

Hi fellas, not long now!!!

So just to sum up details - it begins at 6pm. Being early is preferable obviously, however if you turn up a few mins late that should be ok. The front door may be locked, you can call my phone and I'll come and let you in. PM me for my number if you don't have it already.

The address is 106-108 Gibson St Bowden. There is a small number of carparks onsite but you may need to park on the street.

Cost for the session is $10. This is to purely to cover Neville's time as he will be putting off his backlog of work to have us. Please have correct change if possible - There are no change facilities.

We'll retire to the Gov for a quiet ale or two after. Come along to that if you like/can.

I hope you will all enjoy it, Neville is a great guy who loves talking audio and is very happy to chat.
