Hi Guys,
I'll echo the positive sentiments above. I'm an imminent customer. Good to see some accessories like the speed strobe, any chance you might carry more KAB products in the future? I wanted to try one of their clamps :)
Cheers, Dave

Well, the handful of 'specials' I put up are still mostly available, with the only album selling all on 'special' being the 2LP Cat Stevens "Tea For The Tillerman" which was a bargain at $20.00 and $15.00 off our listed price.

There are still around 13 albums available on 'special' and they vary between $10.00 and $15.00 off, depending on which album it is.

These 'specials' are all plus postage, but if you add one or more additional albums to it from the store, we'll send them all postage free, as well as giving you a nice little discount for being a StereoNET member.

Anyhow, good luck with the 'specials' as it is on a first in first served basis and restricted to one 'special' per SNA member. I'm keen to put more albums up on 'special', but I would like to see most of these albums go first. :thumb:

Cheers,

Keith

Hi Mark,

I can't even find the specials tab!..........is there one on the site mate? :P

I've listed Nirvana "Unplugged in New York", Air "Moon Safari", The Jayhawks "Tomorrow The Green Grass" [great album this and one of my favourites], Cat Stevens 2LP "Tea For The Tillerman" [but the two I had on 'special' have gone to two quick members], Queen "Night At The Opera" and Sufjan Stevens "Illinois" [another one that is in high rotation here - very good album this]. All these are discounted pretty sharply Mark.

I just checked the site again and still can't find a specials tab, but the 'specials' above are definitely still there mate. :thumb:

Cheers,

I ordered three albums from the V-I site and took advantage of the free shipping for orders over $100.
Can only echo the positive comments with regards "Tomorrow the Green Grass". It's a brilliant album by a criminally under-rated/appreciated band.
I saw them live in Los Angeles about 10 years ago and they were astoundingly good.

Okay, to celebrate the opening of our new online record store I didn't want to offer a blanket % off sale and I decided I'd offer a range of albums at a very special price over the month of May instead. Good idea, right?

Well, maybe it wasn't, because in my attempt to make it into a kinda treasure hunt thing, I think I may have made it a little too hard to actually find these 'specials,' in the way I buried them in the text of the album descriptions, along with the codes for SNA members to PM me with. Anyhow, there's still at least ten albums from five different artists available at a very good discount if you care to go have a look for them. All the 'specials' can be found on my Blog page ;) and as I said in an earlier post, as soon as these have gone, I'll come up with some more albums at bargain prices for SNA members to find.

Edit: I have gone into the Blog page and highlighted the 'specials', which should I hope make it a little easier to find them. :thumb:

Once again, good luck with it and I hope you see something there that you'd like.

Cheers,

Keith

No worries Grumps and if that is the case and you found it easily [there were some that didn't BTW], maybe I just picked a selection of vinyl that isn't all that popular. Time will tell I guess mate. Good luck with your projects too.

Yes, a great band and highly underrated indeed. I guess you would be an Uncle Tupelo, Son Volt & Wilco fan as well?

We still have a few "Tomorrow The Green Grass" albums available on 'special' and surprisingly nobody has taken advantage of the discount price as yet. Also some Queen "Night At The Opera" there at a good discount price too.

Hey Keith, surprisingly not so much a fan of Son Volt or Wilco.
I like both bands, but I love the Jayhawks.

To those that don't have it, you just gotta have a copy of "A night at the Opera" in your collection.
It's a stone cold classic, from start to finish, and showed just what talented song writers each and every member of Queen were.
If you like your rock harder still, "Sheer heart attack" and "Queen II" a amazingly good as well.

J.

Um, something's wrong with the shopping cart. The grey box in the top right corner says "2 items in your cart!" but when I click on it, the page it takes me to: "View Basket" says "Your shopping cart is currently empty" and I can't fulfill my vinyl purchasing needs.

Items are Puscifer - "Conditions of my Parole" and Bjork - "Biophilia". Browser is Chrome and operating system is Linux (Fedora).

Fix it! :)

Hi MellowFellow,

I haven't been able to duplicate your problem here myself and others seem to be getting the transaction done okay, so I may need to kick this along to the guru, Marc, in the morning and see what he says could be the problem. In the meantime, we have both those albums in stock and if you care to PM me or Dale at vinyl-eye, we'll calculate the cost for you along with the SNA discount and you can complete the transaction that way. Hopefully, we'll have an answer for you later in the day, but the technical side of the software used here is not my forte.

Cheers,

Keith

Just saw your note, I hope Keith doesn't mind me replying directly to you in here. Chrome is not the most accurate browser (in fact, it's by far the worst), and the cart is using AJAX scripting. I haven't tested Linux with Chrome as obviously it's not a very common configuration.

I suspect any other browser but Chrome will solve your problem. We could try and fix it, but would likely result in problems for people with more common configurations.
Not sure what other options you have for the Linux operating system?
StereoNET is a free resource but does require your support.

Fair call. It seems to be limited to a particular version of Chrome or Fedora anyway. I've just tried on another PC (also Chrome/Fedora) and the cart seems to work properly on that machine.

Site is great. My only suggestion is to provide an option to increase the amount of albums listed on a page. It becomes quite tedious constantly loading new pages (at least for me). Keep up the good work :)

I've received my first order of records and they were packaged very nicely, can't wait to give them a run over the weekend.

The store is quite nice but I would much prefer just to browse by artist, looking via genre is a bit annoying, it might be ok for people who only listen to a single genre. Also, Massive Attack- Protection is in your Metal section.

Hi automated,

You can browse by artist as well as genre on the store site now. Put the artist you are looking for into the search engine and it will find it for you. I will look over the weekend at adding an All Stock category and see if it is possible to make that browse in alpha order for instance................but I will need to talk to our guru [help Marc!] :P and see if this is possible.

I am enjoying them as I type....Sade is playing currently.

Played the Marc Cohn album earlier, now that was an enjoyble experience. Can't believe how well recorded the album is and every song just makes you want to listen to it again and again.

Got to go now and sit back in that sweet spot and enjoy Sade a little bit more........then to pick up the pace a touch with some INXS........Ahhhh, lifes gooood!

Just taken a look at the site, looking good guys! Currently saving money before we go on hols at the end of the month, but I will be purchasing a few when we get back for sure.

A suggestion- are you able to include details of what pressings the LPs are? E.g. The White Stripes LP- is it the XL version or the Third Man version? As so many albums come out on multiple pressings these days it would be useful to be able to see straight up rather than having to ask. :)

Cheers!

Thanks Geoff, my apologies for that album in particular which I didn't include any information other than the track listing. The White Stripes is the XL version under licence from Third Man Records. We will try to make sure the pressing information is there with a little more detail than I provided with this album, but generally the product code will identify the label, however, not always.

how does the Elvis pressing compare to the Shelby Lynne "Just A Little Lovin" Analogue Productions [Quality Records]?

G'day Keith,
how does the Elvis pressing compare to the Shelby Lynne "Just A Little Lovin" Analogue Productions [Quality Records]?

Hi mate, they are two totally different albums with the Shelby Lynne album on AP a big improvement over the Lost Highway version IMHO and I like her treatment of the Dusty songs even more than the originals now. Elvis "24 Karat Hits" is a 3LP 180g set with a mix of mono and stereo recording circa the '50s to the mid '60s and AP have done a sensational job of remastering from the original master tapes and I've never heard these songs sound so good.

Cheers,

Keith
