Hello vinyl lovers,

We're happy to announce that our online record store is now up and active and you can find us here at Vinyl Eye Records.

It's good to finally have the online record store active, as it allows us to offer lower prices across the whole range of our new vinyl records and it also allows us a lot more flexibility in the way we can interact and respond to our clientele.

I would encourage you to check out our new store and all feedback from you is valued highly and will be very much appreciated.

Dale and I would like to thank you all for the terrific support you gave the vinyl eye ebay store, which incidentally will continue as before, but with the new online record store we're sure you'll find it to be a far better experience in seeking out that new piece of black wax to spin.

We thought about a % off discount for all albums listed on the new store as a store opening special offer, but we have instead decided to offer a series of 'specials' over this month of May. Have a look on the site and in particular the Blog page and I have listed a small selection of albums at special prices. The 'specials' are only available to StereoNET members and we'll allow one per member only, however, if you pick up the special and buy one or more additional albums, you can have them all postage free.

We are offering only new vinyl albums for sale on the site, but you will find vinyl accessories such as Test LPs, Record Cleaning Brushes, Inner Sleeves and Strobe Speed Testers and we will be expanding this category too as the store grows and develops further. This is where your input is important to us and we welcome any comments and suggestions you may have regarding the store and what you would like to see us doing.

As per the vinyl eye ebay store, because you're an SNA member, make sure you continue to contact Dale or myself directly and we will give you a further discount on the store listed prices. I hope you enjoy the new site and I hope you find something from our list of new vinyl albums that you would like to own. Good luck with the 'specials' too and I will add more over the next few weeks..........you will need to look closely around the site for them though. :thumb:

Cheers,

Keith

Hi Shane,

It's early doors at this stage mate, but I hope we can do an alpha browser soon, but for now it will have to be by category. Always happy to track down anything you want if it doesn't appear on the site............impossible to carry everything but always happy to order it in.

JD............agree mate, the site does operate quickly and easy to navigate and hope to keep it that way.

the site looks good and seems easy enough to navigate for me.

Keith, maybe a little bit more info is needed on some of the albums. For instance the Julie London album i am presuming is 45 rpm, the Black Keys El Camino is this the 2lp version?

Thanks diesel, we've had some others pointing this out as well and we'll work through the albums and add this detail. To answer those two specifically though, Julie London "Julie Is Her Name" is a 45rpm version and the Black Keys El Camino is a 2LP album which includes a poster and CD as well.

Thanks for the proof reading too............that letter k is a little too close to the l on the keyboard me thinks! :P

That is not correct.

The checkout shows the GST, but is not increasing by the GST amount; ie the price is the same.

YMMV!???

Hi Proac, it is early doors with the site and I'll look at this today. I have been in touch with Marc who did the site development for us and from talking to him it is my understanding that at the checkout stage it deducts the GST amount and then adds it back in when everything is tallied, inclusive of postage. I believe it does this so as to show you the GST component of your purchase, but in fact you are not paying any more than the listed price by the time the transaction is complete. Maybe Marc will call in here and perhaps he can explain this a little better, but that is my understanding as to how it works. Our listed prices are intended to be inclusive of GST.

Thanks for the feedback nonetheless, Proac, as this is exactly what we want to hear about so if there is a problem we can correct it quickly.

Ahhh...excellent. I just assumed that if GST was listed separately at the end then the prices weren't GST inclusive. Perhaps it was me being obtuse. Another way I have seen it done is to say "Total includes $xyz of GST." at checkout.

A small thing which I found confusing was that you have to check out to get the postage amount - otherwise it comes up $0.00 (I thought free postage - yippee!).

Perhaps you could post a discount code for SNA members here and that would save us contacting you for a discount.

No classical ?

No classical, noted Proac but I don't mind a little classical myself too.........I'm just not educated enough in that genre as to what I should stock?

As far as the common discount code goes for SNAers, that is a good idea, but it would be a matter of the software having the smarts to work it out and I doubt that is possible at this point. The other argument against that too, is that if you contact me or Dale and depending on the album, what we could offer as a discount might be more than going with a set discount attached to a code. Besides, we always like to here from fellow SNAers anyway. :)

As far as the code system goes, as I said in my first post here in this thread, there are specials on the site and I hinted at where to look to find them and they have a code attached to them for SNAers to use, but they aren't obvious and you do have to go look for them though! :thumb:

For all those interested in the 'specials' on the new site, the copies of Cat Stevens Analogue Productions "Tea For The Tillerman" I had on there for $20 each have now gone. There are still plenty of the other 'specials' still available though, so good luck with them.
