G'day All,

Knocked this up over the long weekend (Lots of tourists visit my area so my house tends to go in to lock down - until things return to normal).

It's a bit rough but looks nice overall and more importantly, does the job it's supposed to do. Cost me about $25 (I already had the timber lying around).

I decided to make one after my Q701's rocked up and I discovered a decent timber stand was quite expensive!

Anyway, just thought I'd put it out there in case anyone else has a tight budget and would rather save the dough for other components rather than a lump of stand :)

Cheers

Wish I could go into lockdown and produce something like that. Got a pic with the headphone on?

Looks the goods mate. I can see that you like a bit of timber by the things in the background.

Whats powering the cans?

Thanks guys, as I said it's a bit rough but It does the job and I got impatient towards the end.

Ben, I reckon it took about 15 to 20 hours not including drying time for glue/finishes etc

GB, I'm just using my Roksan integrated.....Honestly at first I found the cans to be base heavy (contrary to popular opinion) but now they sound great! I suppose they have about 150 hours on them now. My speakers required a fairly long run in too but the result was the same.....Great end result (Orpheus Apollo's if your keen to know).
I considered a dedicated headphone amp before the sound cleaned up, plus I'm saving for an audiophillio :) you know how it goes.....Can't have everything.

And yep, I have been know to favour the timber look :)
