I would like to start this thread to pay compliments to some the recent updates here at SNA. As a basic user I think the new software if great. Infinitely more tweakable and not so radically different to the old one to cause any real headaches. Many thanks to Marc and all involved in the transition, I think you've done a great job.

Also thanks to all the mods for being so active in cleaning up the general conduct around here. I've seen a few half-baked complaints here and there, but I guess some people just needed to learn that it is possible to express strong views without being rude or descending into flame wars. So nice not to have to avoid a thread due to pages of petty blah blah blah.

So yeah, just trying to say something positive, and I hope others feel the same.

Cheers, Dave

I think it's pretty good too.
I see one member didn't think much of it though!

It has been a quite seamless upgrade given the size and complexity involved. Marc is to be commended.

I much prefer the new forum software.

Thanks guys. I really didn't get much sleep for the best part of a week - and it is not an easy task with a database the size of ours (members, posts, polls, avatars, images, thumbnails ... the list goes on).
However, I believe it was the most seamless transition to date, and we did some preparation work to ensure it would be as smooth a process as possible.

Glad to see some members really appreciate what I and the moderators do. Those that don't ... well you can see my response to that in the other recent thread. :)

I agree, it is a fabulous new look. Well done to the SNA team. The only negative I have is when you push the "New Content" button you get a list of new members and have to push again to get new content. Is this something that can be altered?
Thanks for sharing

Best Wishes

It's at the bottom of the preview thread drop-down

Yep, as I get used to it I'm liking it much more.
At the beginning I missed some PMs because of the new format, but I'm better now.

I like seeing who's reading the thread I'm reading and the fact that read threads don't dissapear from view anymore.

its something strange about the mobile version too, if push new content button you get a list of threads with new content, but if select any threads it takes you right back to the start of a thread rather than to last unread post.

but otherwise its a great upgrade I think, and can imagine a lot of work gone in to carry things across to the new format :)

Just a reminder guys, if you are experiencing an "error" or broken functionality, please follow the steps outlined here, in a new thread. :)
I'm still getting PMs and emails regarding issues that have already been solved or discussed, and no information regarding browser, version, etc etc.
Makes it hard for me to work through them or address the issues completely. Ta and Happy Easter.

Thanks again rehabitat

quite hard to spot!

No worries. That's a good point that a lot of the subtle functions can take a while to spot. Perhaps some items could be hi-lited a bit better.
