A 'Living Treasure' and great achiever in the music industry over many years.
Died this morning after a long illness.

i was so very lucky to have worked with him in perth many years ago as a backing musician,
he was a true gentleman

He was a gentleman indeed, and oh boy, could he sing. I had a brief chat with him when he was touring the magnificent Messenger album up here in Brisbane, and I walked away thinking how charming and genuine he was.
It's always sad when a legend passes.......time to spin Messenger.

An audiophile uses music to appreciate his hi fi, a music lover uses hi fi to appreciate his music. I am a music lover.

A very beautiful man. The Messenger album is an Aussie classic. Very, very sad news indeed. RIP Jimmy.

I just watched the tribute on 7.30 and I am impressed with what he said "Don't mistake niceness and kindness for weakness"
A true fella, he will be missed by many.
