If you watch a lot of cinemascope material the effective screen height will be 75% of the 16:9 screen, so factor this in.
3x screen height at 3.8m means a 16:9 screen of ~ 100" before you factor in the black bars top and bottom for 'scope. If you watch a lot of scope material the 3x effective screen height would mean a 16:9 screen of ~130".
I'm sitting 4m from a 130" 'scope screen and would have preferred to go to 140", but couldn't due to room constraints.
While screen size in the recent past was often limited by projector brightness, there's plenty of affordable projectors nowadays that will light up a big screen.

Hold your arms directly out in front of yourself at eye level, now spread you thumbs and fingers out as far as you can, have your left and right thumbs touching each other.
Now look at the ends of where your spread out little fingers end up against the proposed screen position, this is your limits of direct view.
This will give you the max screen size from that seat position where you don't have to move your head to see the entire screen.
Which is the ideal 50 degrees
