Thought this might be a good place to ask while not exactly the subject of this sub forum.

I run some public events (car related) and we broadcast music to create a vibe and atmosphere. Generally this is just running from a laptop using Windows Media Player, and while MC'ing, I throw out plugs for the organisation and remind them to log on to the website for latest news etc etc ...

What I would like, is a way of having this announcement pre-recorded, and to automatically voice over after a predetermined time (every 15 minutes for example). Does anyone have a PC based solution to this? Ideally, it would probably drop the volume of the music temporarily while the announcement is being made.

Any advice or suggestions appreciated. :)

The only way I can think of is to create a playlist, insert your music and the announcement as one of the tracks. Duplicate the announcement track and re-insert it after every 15min worth of music.
Do not have it in random play.
(assumes Windows media player has playlists)

Hi Ralph, thanks for the input. I had thought of that way, but it still relies on me manually creating playlists etc, and not having background music that changes while the voiceover is playing.
It would work failing finding any other solution. I am sure there would be some sort of internet radio software out there but thought i would ask in case someone has come across this before.

Thanks again.
