As my system is (nearly) finished and I will not be moving out of the house I live in at the moment for another few years, I thought why not organize a GTG for a few SNA members rather sooner than later... Especially when I mentioned something like that a couple years back in one of my replies to some thread.

Space is a bit problematic, so it would have to be a group of, let's say 6 or 7 people that would be willing to exchange seats, so that everyone would have a chance to sit in a "sweet spot" at some point... If there is enough interest, I wouldn't mind organizing two GTGs at all. :(

Now, one thing that could be a possible deal breaker is that it would have to start at about 7pm and it can go for as long as we want to... We can finish it at 5AM, it doesn't really matter but it can happen only on either Friday or Sunday.

The dates I have in mind are: Friday the 27th of April or Sunday the 29th of April or one week later: Friday the 4th of May or Sunday the 6th of May. As I said, there could be two dates, if there is enough interested people.
I have never been to a GTG, so any suggestions are welcome...

Now, what will we play with?

50% Slivovitz plus Lamb Madras that I would make the night before so that spices can nicely penetrate the meat. That is one very healthy dinner option! :) I'll also have some beer, soft drinks and you can BYO whatever you'll feel like...

Then:

Acoustic Signature Mambo with a Tri-Planar + ZYX Omega
(possibly) Once Analog with a Basis Vector 4 + Benz Ebony H
Ayon CD5s modded
NAT Signature phono stage with a possible addition of GS Elevator EXP or Whest PS.20 + MsU.20
CAT Renaissance preamp
Pass Labs X250 power amp

Music ranging from BYO to free jazz, Impulse! mono Coltranes, Johnny Hodges, some Blue Notes, Shostakovich String Quartets, Ramones and everything and anything in between...

Anyone interested?

Cheers,

Jan

Great idea and about time. I would love to attend. Friday evening would be my preference but I'm flexible depending on final date.

Hi Jan,

Me thinks, too! :(

Let's see how it develops, but I think that more people would prefer Friday, it's just that my day off is Monday and Saturday night is not possible for me to organize anything, I thought I'll offer Sunday evening as an option...

Hi Jan, you can count me in on either the Friday or Sunday [probably prefer Sunday] and hopefully you do have that Slee Elevator in the system...........I'm sure we can make sure it happens that way anyhow!

Cheers,

Keith

Great guys!!!

We'll decide about the exact date or if we need two GTGs when we get closer... Although it's still way too early, there may be enough people for two sessions.

We'll have to spin Lucy, Keith! BTW, I'm looking forward trying that EXP

Hi Jan

Can you provide more details of your modded cd5s? I just bought the one advertised on SNA and would like feedback on how to improve it. Are you using the Ayon as a line stage? Using RCA or Xlr?

Cheers

Peter,

Tubes and rectifiers were rolled with matched NOS Russian tubes and in place of the former Burr Brown op amps now there are Bursons. You can contact Dallas of Clarke Audio who does these sorts of things :) Or you can bring your player to my place and see if you want to take that route...

It means that we will go with two sessions and that there's still room for one or two people... I'll revive the thread sometime in April and hopefully, we'll be able to come with two dates that will suit all the interested people.

Cheers,
Jan

Alright, I guess we can finalize the date(s) now...

Numbers make for exactly three GTGs with six people in each... Plus me, seventh.

You guys put yourself for one of the dates mentioned above and we'll work out around that. If it doesn't make any difference, we can just make three groups in order how you expressed interest. Does it make sense? :)
