Budget Marantz ht amplifier any good?

hi im looking into getting a Marantz sr3001 for my pair of Cerwin Vega e715's to last me a year or so until i can get a dedicated power amp. anyone know if this amplifier is any good?

With no mention of surround I have to ask why you would choose an avr over a 2 ch integrated

Because i can get one at a 72% discount off graysonline and i only need it to last me a year till i can get a decent stereo amp because my pioneer vsx d810s i had from 2001 died the other day.

The sound for music from Marantz AVR's is excellent when in Pure Direct mode, which is 2 channel with all audio and video processing by passed (I think). It should be fine for your short term application especially at that good price !

i own one with a set of cerwin vega e715 and it pretty good but more power would be good because these speakers are 400watts rms!
