Went to the lang concert last night as per thread title. Really good seat position about 10m from centre stage.
Performance was great. Highlight for me a goosebump, standing ovation producing rendition of Hallelujah. Cohen and all covererers including Buckley - the song belongs to kd.
Sound balance was perhaps a little band heavy but the bass written into many of the siss boom bang tracks came through brilliantly.
Boy can this Canadian country gal sing!!!

Totally agree with you.
We sat on the grass for her Melbourne gig and she got a standing ovation too for this track.

Although I've never really been all that keen on K.D. Lang, I've always thought that she might be a good live performer. Sounds like that is true.

I think her music may always have been something of an acquired taste. It changes in style as time goes on but moves on relatively slowly. I think what I like about her is a powerful wide ranging voice, excellent expression and I do personally like a lot of the music she has chosen. From a live performance point of view I notice an ease and confidence on stage, good contact with the audience, a sense of humour and a microphone technique I haven't seen from anyone else.
With siss boom bang less of a torch singer and in a way moving back towards rock.
