Guys I would like to know if you have the kamado, if so what are your views on them and why.

Are there any specific ones to stay away from, which one would be ideal to have ?

Our old (30yr+) one kicked it, and we're planning on getting one from here http://www.kamadocoo...om.au/index.php - they look great, and have different sizes available. I also like the accessories offered and even the fact you can mount some in a custom table. Nice.

I love them. Ours didn't get a huge amount of attention compared to our grill, due to the time involved with preparation, but the result was always superb. And it's so easy to use. Because you're slow cooking, the window for a good BBQ is very big. I encourage anyone, if they're going to go down this path, to really exploit the fact that you can smoke. Ie use flavoured chips, try rubs, there's a heap of resources from our friends in the USA who seem to treat BBQ-ing like a religion.

Kamado Joe is one I have shortlisted, how long back did you get it ?
What other ones were you considering during your purchase?

Any other comments ?

Have a look on that website and search for a post by Amfibius (ex KeithW from here) about 3 months ago. He describes the options rather well. I bought my Kamado Joe after seeing his.
