As some of you know I recently purchased a second hand set of 300b Monoblocks as well as a Tune Preamp off the forum.

I was initially using the setup with Lenehan ML1+r's and there was a small hum evident. The blocks and pre-amp breathed life into the speakers, but I couldn't help but be annoyed by the hum.

I got in touch with Earle who offered to look at the amplifier. Earle was able to fix the problem in no time at all and even offered to modify the amps (a few days work) for free! Earle's support for his products is amazing and I am very happy to be a Weston customer.

I'm now using the setup with K1000 Headphones, until I have a space big enough to use speakers. The amps continue to amaze and compete with much of the upper-end hifi I have listed to.

Thanks for everything Earle!

Very nice gear and that Earle is a champion. You can't get customer service like that anymore.

Good story. We need more people like Earle. It's very refreshing to constantly read all the positive threads about the service and products that Earle provides.

Nice write up Juz. I too had some hum with my Time Machine 300B, but luckily Earle installed a hum buster circuit into the amp and it allows the user to fine tune the hum level to a minimum. Also, i found that my my left TJsn7's tube was causing more hum in the amp. Swapped it over with a spare, and now the hum is significantly reduced. Just recently i've upgraded to some Shuguang Treasures 300b tubes, and also noticed that this brought a noticable reduction in hum with my 96db sensitivity speakers over the EH 300b gold pins that i was using initially. Have to say, I am really fond of the SET sound.

One day when funds permit, i'd like to upgrade to a set up like yours in the future. Meanwhile, enjoy those monoblocks my TM brotha..
