We need hosts!
I'm looking for offers to host from people with diverse systems that each in their own right are good examples of a particular approach.
Car pooling
We all start at the first venue then perhaps could arrange a bit of a car pool around so the travel becomes part of the day. Better to have a chance to yak from house to house.
Food to share
I'm suggesting that we all bring food to share as this could turn into a big event. Hosts then don't have to feed the masses and we get a nice smorgasbord in more ways than one!
Prelim details
Date: TBA Some time in November if we can make that work.
Time: 10am start
Semi-open invite
Please keep in mind that for security reasons this is not open to everyone. This event is restricted to those who have been around the community and are fairly well known. I can't ask people to offer to host an event like this where unknown people may show up. So as a precaution, and to be fair to the hosts, we'll restrict entrance. I hate to have to do this, but it's necessary. If you are a regular known by all, no problem. Some discretion will be used here, if in doubt shoot me a PM.
Send me a PM if you would like to come.
Hosts
So the idea, apart from having a good time and a good yak, is to give people exposure to different flavours of audio. Systems that have taken a particular approach, have done it well so that they typify the strengths of that approach.
What do I mean by different flavours? Well some examples:
- a large dynamic horn system (Avantgarde Trios anyone?)
- electrostats
- a fully active system
- a serious DIY system
- full range driver system
- exotic speakers - omnis, open baffle, fancy unique drivers, etc
How does that sound guys? I won't be hosting just yet, but happy to get the ball rolling and do some organising to make it happen. Who would like to host? Ideas, suggestions, comments? I think this could be a great community event
