To refresh your memory mario, I don't bother with words like tonality because who can pin it down? Admittedly how can you pin down ANY of the words, but tonality I guess I object to because it is so overused and smacks of audiophile wankery (to me) and because it is so, well fluffy. I may have totally misremembered it, have not bothered to look. I'd be stunned if I said I had the 'worlds most accurate speakers'. If you show me that is what I said, I will have no hesitation in apologising and or correcting any erronous impression I may have given.

I do recall saying 'I would put mine up against anything'. And I would. I make no excuses for that, it is what I feel. I could of course come out very red faced at the end of the day, but then again I am and do feel confident I would not be shamed.

The continued animosity by various members is very good cause to close the thread. The protagonists know who they are and are asked to clean up their insults. This is not a forum for insult to be spread and hatred to be born. Please discuss audio, act appropriately and do not cast fellow members in what might be considered a negative or derogatory light. All those involved, please just act appropriately and do not post any discussion on this or other moderator requests here, as this will only serve to draw people further away from the audio discussion..

Sorry, I for one don't understand.

For starters, it is a very broad generalization to make, and to cap it off with 'those concerned know who they are' is way too encompassing. What is of direct concern to me is I am waiting on an apology from steven and mario for their blatant lies. Your post would, I assume, serve to prevent that happening.

It is not acceptable that they can make these unfounded accusations, and I know they will not be able to back it up with a link (as the post was exactly as I summarized recently). I for one am attempting to discuss audio, either on a technical (albeit theoretical) level and or general audio musings. That your post comes directly after mine can tend to suggest that I am one of the protagonists. If so, then I am for example unaware of being at the bottom of your complaint, which serves to illustrate the 'uselessness' of 'they know who they are'.

I don't find it acceptable that (by your action/post) you have effectively acquiesced or seem to be in tacit agreement with unfounded accusations being allowable. Which I might add I personaly find strange given the moderator warnings I have received based on anonymous complaints to the mods. An anonymous complaint cannot be defended and as such is an unjust action.

That you have made THIS announcement public, yet forbid any sort of discussion on it effectively preempts any setting straight of the record, and implicitly assigns 'permanent' status to the unfounded accusations. In summary, it enshrines the very thing you seek to prevent.
