I am thrilled to announce that Pure Music Group were recently appointed dealers for Anthem and Anthem Statement audio visual products. Anthem offer some of the best home theatre processors, receivers and power amplifiers available today.

On display at Mornington, I have the flagship D2v processor and it really does live up to the hype that has surrounded this processor from local and overseas owners.

One of the stand out features with Anthem is ARC - Anthem Room Correction, which brings amazing clarity, detail and bass with amazing punch, to whatever music or movies that are being enjoyed, by taking control of the listening rooms acoustical problems.
Product details from the Anthem website; http://www.anthemav....ement/processor

It has genuine analogue pass through, which is totally free of any signal processing for the purist who are combining high quality stereo and HT in the one system.

Anyone is most welcome to come and see and hear what this unit is capable of within my system.
Also on display are the remarkable ADAM active Classic Series Column Mk 3 speakers, which also offer incredible performance for their price point. Anyone searching for new speakers in the $10k price range, really should have a listen to these. They share a lot of sonic similarities to the more expensive ADAM Tensor Series range of speakers.

Very nice, very envious.

Wish I could be a dealer and get such nice toys :) (not a jibe, honestly envious)

Edit: Would love to be apart of any GTG that goes on to hear that unit in action. :)

Anthem gear looks very nice.

Have always read good reviews about them.
Wonder how their ARC compares to audyssey

Good question, would be interesting to do some objective and subjective comparisons.

JohnA, probably not something for you as you have used your HT system for like 30 mins in the last 24 months :)

Hi John

I actually have the Audyssey Sound EQ unit herer also, which is also a great unit, being Audyssey's flagship full frequency unit.

I honestly do not believe that my HT system has sounded better that it does right now with the Anthem.
Cheers :)

So very true.
Still would be good to compare the 2 on the same unit if possible

I have no doubt mate. With an animal like that it had better. Just wondering if arc does the same job as audyssey. Any way to disable arc and use the audyssey pro kit with it.

You'd love that wouldn't you :)

I would like to listen to it compared to a top flight two channel pre.

Hi LD, when you say pass through with no processing, I assume this also means no volume control of any kind is applied?

If yes, then is your 2ch preamp cabled up running into the Anthem? (ahead of your power amps).

I think this is HT bypass in reverse. Rather than Receiver into bypass inputs on a 2ch pre, its 2ch pre into pass through on the Anthem.

Have I got all that right, or am I off on the wrong tangent?

Digital Rig: Marantz CD94 (i2s) -> KillerDAC(click)
Analog Rig: Luxman PD-310 / Syrinx PU3 / DucKingwood 103r -> Eastern Electric Minimax Phono
Into: AudioNote M3 Pre -> Radford STA15 S3 -> Tannoy Monitor Golds (15's)

Hi Oz, no not quite correct. The D2v's volume control is analogue. Any analogue input can be configured for analoge direct, which bypasses A/D & D/A conversion and ALL digital processing.

Had this not been the case, I would have overlooked this processor.

Snip taken from the FAQ's from the Anthem website;

"Question,

In Analog-Direct mode, how can the signal stay analog when the volume control is digital?

Answer

The audio signal going through volume control is always analog regardless of input type. A numerical readout for the volume setting does not mean the audio becomes digital."

I am currently using the D2v as my stereo pre, with my sources connected directly to it and from it feeding my active speakers.
Cheers :)

I should add, when taking advantage of Anthem Room Correction (ARC), an analogue signal will be converted to digital, manipulated with EQ, then converted back to analogue and out to the speakers. To do this, in the Source menu, Analogue DSP is the mode that is selected.

Though feeding a digital signal from a digital source would be prefered in this case.

I am not that familiar with Anthem and their products of late, but once owned a fabulous Sonic Frontiers tubed amp.
Regretted selling it not long after it left the house. :)

No worries, thanks for the clarification.

I assume bass management is also not engaged in this mode. That if you want the subs integrated, you need to turn on the digital processing?

Yep, that's correct. Here you have two options. DSP with upsampling 192 DAC, with or without ARC.
Cheers :)
