Teaser and the fiercat-Cat Stevens....there was one slipup on my first purchase [and this is the god's honest's truth] instead of Teaser and the firecat in that album sleeve .....I got Franckie Yancovich-beer barrel polker greatest hits.
Needless to say I went back and got it sorted......[my first coustomer complaint at aged 10]
I haven't stopped since some have said.

My first 45 was Revolution by the Beatles around the same time - others liked Hey Jude but I liked the less popular flip side. Around 1968/69 I guess, so I was pretty young (had older siblings that helped fashion my love of rock, esp in the early 70's with Led Zep1, 2 etc)

Can't remember my first cd as that moment was nothing special

First LP I think was either the Kinks or the Beatles.
First favourite LP was Rolling Stones 'Through the past Darkly'
First CD 'Forrest Gump' soundtrack I think!
Like Norpus I had slightly older siblings, so had a constant flow of records coming into the home and the Beatles Revolution/ Hey Jude single was the first single bought from my first pay packet.
All the above is guess work; MAN!! that was a long time ago.

Hey what's to offend? i achieved MOF (mouldy old fart) status years ago, doesn't mean i don't appreciate music tho!!! I just have some understanding of where it's come from - and continue to be surprised and delighted with where it goes. (And now i can afford to listen on a decent system)
Cheers

If it wasn't that, it was The Real Thing by Russell Morris.
Either way it was a Johnny Young song.
I've never bought a pre-recorded cassette BTW.
I always considered them a waste of money when you could record your own.
A bit like MP3...........
