I know that team have been around for a long time, but honestly, what were they thinking when they chose that name. Rabbitohs!! A white rabbit for a mascot. Boy, that really strikes fear in the opposition.

well are you inviting an education here......

I suppose you are!

A "rabbitoh" is not a rabbit as such. It is a seller of rabbits; the Rabbitoh's used to travel the southern and eastern suburbs if Sydney during the late 19th century.

They sold rabbits to peaple to eat as chicken, at the time, was too expensive and only the rich could afford to eat chicken and most would only splurge on a chook at christmas.

It was a name that was given to a team that represented the downtrodden and working class out of pride for their indifference! vIV l' REVOLUTION some may say.

My fathers uncle played for them, 1st grade from 1932-1936

Well, they blew the Roosters away (Russell looked very pleased) but then lost to the Eels.

Broncos are 3-0 after beating their "bogy" team - the Warriors in NZ. Only undefeated team left and the third round ain't over yet.

I've got nothing against aerial pingpongers. There are many worse afflictions.

Too true.

Only reason I brought up the "only undefeated" team is that it's clearly gonna be a hell of a stoush this year. Oh, BTW, the Broncos won their first two games by a total of three points.

Still, promising in their first year EVER under any coach except Wayne Bennett. They play his new team - St George - next week in Brisbane. That should be something. If I wasn't so lazy I'd look into getting tickets.

One red one green.

Played in south's juniors [Fullback]
Same school and year as Nathan Gibbs [former south's Captain]

Bizarre situation ATM regarding Holmes a court.

Lives opposite me,currently keeping a low profile.
[But heap's hands on....BIG TIME]

Russell is still a "want to be " League player as ever LOL, I could tell some Zetland/Waterloo oval stories.

Seems ALL GOOD ATM,great vibe and no BS....unlike last year.

Yeh! seems a bit strange having a KIWI help my family team stand up mate!

The membership count is going great guns though..................

I hope that they keep up the way they are going, it would be great if they can take out a season one day, a long time since the "glory Halleuyuya days" though.

Russell would take that as an offense......being called a Kiwi.

He considers himself a Zetland /Waterloo boy....fair enough, that's where he spent most of his life.
Rugby League hot spot if ever there was one.

You wouldn't want to say it to his face. put it that way.

He can get really nasty,I've seen that side of him, known him for years.

Even Les Davidson [his bodyguard ] EX south's Prop has trouble handling him

Was always a Maggies supporter when I lived in Sydney......was gutted when they combined with Balmain, but I guess you gotta go with the state of the game. Guess Wests should have stuck to their guns like Souths. I must say though that I was more gutted when the Tigers made the grand final the year I moved to Perth. Over here they dont even have the grand final on tv till about midnight. Hope another NRL team gets up here, cos I sure would like to see Benji weave his magic. Looks like the bunnies have a pretty good team this year and will probably do pretty well.....especially as their being coached by an ex maggie:D

How are the Rabbitohs doing in the league? I stopped following the league after moving back to Melbourne. Back then, I was supporting Parramatta and for one reason only - Nathan Hindmash.

I missed those Rugby pubs and its Friday's $5 steak. They were so good.

G'day,

A white rabbit for a mascot. Boy, that really strikes fear in the opposition.

TIM:Too late![dramatic chord]
ARTHUR:
What?
TIM:
There he is!
ARTHUR:
Where?
TIM:
There!
ARTHUR:
What, behind the rabbit?
TIM:
It is the rabbit.
ARTHUR:
You silly sod!
TIM:
What?
ARTHUR:
You got us all worked up!
TIM: Well, that's no ordinary rabbit!
ARTHUR:
Ohh.
TIM:
That's the most foul, cruel, and bad-tempered rodent you ever set eyes on!
ROBIN:
You ***! I soiled my armour I was so scared!
TIM:
Look, that rabbit's got a vicious streak a mile wide! It's a killer!
GALAHAD:
Get stuffed!
TIM:
He'll do you up a treat, mate.
GALAHAD:
Oh, yeah?
ROBIN:
You mangy Scots git!
TIM:
I'm warning you!
ROBIN:
What's he do, nibble your bum?
TIM:
He's got huge, sharp-- eh-- he can leap about-- look at the bones!
ARTHUR:
Go on, Bors. Chop his head off!
BORS:
Right! Silly little bleeder. One rabbit stew comin' right up!
TIM:
Look!
BORS:
Aaaugh! [dramatic chord][clunk]
ARTHUR:
Jesus Christ!
TIM:
I warned you!
ROBIN:
I done it again!
TIM:
I warned you, but did you listen to me? Oh, no, you knew it all, didn't you? Oh, it's just a harmless little bunny, isn't it? Well, it's always the same. I always tell them--

Rabbitoh supporters must be eternal optimists. How long has it been since they won a flag? 40 years?

Well far be it for me to be blamed as a "fair weather Bunny supporter".

Very wet track in Sydney tonight, The bulldogs did well, what a fantastic last 10 minutes. And I am proud to say a bit of "biffo" as well.

Well done Canterbury/Bankstown.

Lets see what the next draw is like due on Thursday!
