I'm from Victoria also.
I'll be moving into a new house in December and am looking to purchase my first hi fi system.
I have so much to learn but it looks like I couldn't be in a better location.

Nice warm day today, 27 according to bom (at Parramatta anyway).
Anyway, pros and cons, seems to be more hifi fun to be had in VIC :-(
Norpus, you are more than welcome to come to my house, except there really is no point as I am probably where you were about 5 years ago, working on it though :-) Might be a couple of other forum members (both here and on that other forum who might be interested??)
EDIT: Oops, better go enter where I'm from <sheepish grin> no NZ jokes please!

Nice going Norpus!
I'm sure they'll love the setup. The question on everyone's lips is though, what are you going to upgrade... Pre perhaps, oh I know damn that's right you were going to sell me your speakers at a bargain basement rate because you loved those Wilsons so much!

I have a problem with mine and HDMI with the Denon DVD player, just another reason why I don’t like projectors.

Congratulations Norpus. I’ll be interested in which projector you go for as a replacement.

I just got the Sony Cineza one. It was a toss up between that one or the AE900 Panasonic. I think the Pano has a ever so slightly better picture (pixels closer together) but the Sony has a better contrast and better globe warranty. If you have heaps to spend the HD Sony PJ has an unbelivably good picture but it's 14k.

The only person I know with the pano got it off ebay for 2400, probably a grey import so warranty might be an issue. I certainly wouldn't pay more than 25-26 for one though. Shame you've just missed the free spare lamp offer.
