astr0b0y
Have started watching again before the new 6-part series in 2016. This will be my third watch, first was original airing, then DVD box sets back in the mid nineties, now HD from a release last year. Just watched my fav episode, series 2 episode 17 "End Game". Anyone else a fan? Had to stop half way through to be told off by the wife for something and notice this cool effect. funky
Yeah I am a fan. Watched from 1st to 4th seasons originally then again recently. I must confess I haven't watched beyond the 5th season, does it still maintain it's quality? I didn't know about the new season though...maybe I shd revisit before them...good heads up. Ps yep that does look good
astr0b0y
6th season us worth it. 7th was just stretching it too far but was necessary to qualify for syndication at the time.

Curious...

My fav topics (episodes) were non-alien based and more the paranormal, Eg "Darkness falls" and "Tooms"

Curious... yep just the memory of the airing on free to air TV. it was a weekly treat. was pretty excited to buy on DVD. but will be something I'd want to watch in succession. interesting that you saw on repeat viewing in a different light
funky
[...]interesting that you saw on repeat viewing in a different light Yeah I guess when I first watched it was more naive or maybe now I'm more cynical depending on the POV

astr0b0y
Do try and check out the new HD releases, they are a massive upgrade in PQ to the originals. I'd forgotten about "Tooms" - personally the first season dragged for me and I am a huge fan of the series and the Mulder/Scully relationship. Back when the original airings I don't think I had much critical thinking ability at all and wanted to believe as much as Mulder.
Briz Vegas
.....right. Its a TV fiction guys. Aliens. It was fun to watch but aliens, at least ones visting us, are not real. Everyone knows that the very nature of evolution dicatates that no species will achieve interstellar travel before it self destructs on the back of its own success......unless they are kangaroos....which can switch off reproduction when resources are scarce. Am i taking this discussion too seriously.?

astr0b0y
Getting into Season 3 now, it's picking up a good pace. Just watched an episode with Jack Black in it. I don't remember him from previous watchings. There quite a good peppering of quality castings.
