Yup, watched ep 3 last night...very good, very very good. Billy bob Thornton is fantastic, I'm a bit ambivalent about Martin Freeman though.

BBT, is the man. "The younger boy, seems a bit dim. Ya had him checked!?" I almost wet my pants. :D

MF played his part exceptionally well. I actually felt sorry for him.

TV episode ? I thought it was a movie ?

obviously am not wiht the times !

And a very good movie :) , though I've always thought Sharon Stone's performance in Casino was a little more deserving of the Oscar over Frances McDormand's in Fargo.

I always thought Fargo was one of the Coen brothers' better movies.

It obviously forms the basis for the new TV series. But, no, I didn't see the episode on TV.

I'm not sure how much the Coen brothers had to do with the TV series, although the link below mentions them as executive producers.

They had no input at all into the series but approved of it's script and production team  and gave it their imprimatur hence the notice in the credits.

The next episode (#4) apparently makes  the link between the movie and the TV series more overt.

I've caught up with all the previous episodes now thanks to SBS on demand.

Cheers

@@gz76 Bet you laughed at the anal penetration though! Couldn't have happened to a nicer pair of morons!!

Again, a great show, especially so coming from someone like me who is highly adverse to the large majority of treacle on the screen nowadays.

Just watched 4 episodes and agreed. Great show, Billy Bob Thornton is great, Martin Freeman is trying too hard! Not convincing. Bring back William H. Macy!
