HD broadcasting in Australia has been going how long? And how much program is broadcast in 5.1...? Since upgrading my STB to a HD one a couple of months back I have been appalled at how little 5.1 material is broadcast - I could count on 2 hands how many I have seen (and I watch far more TV than I should).
So what do the TV channels waste their precious 5.1 broadcast time on.....?
DESPERATE BLOODY HOUSEWIVES !!!

Supernatural was back on tonight but not in DD5.1. Now that show with it's Rock Music, frightening, jump out at you moments and the rumbling V8 of their black beast would be great in 5.1

I'm for that! It makes such a difference to the viewing experience. I am so deprived (yes, deprived) that I actually sat through Desperate Housewifes just for the audio. Not sure whether that sounds like the old excuse of buying Playboy just for the articles....

Ah yes! my free TV guide has a very small insert devoted to 7 and 10's HD channels. Battlestar Galactica, followed by Journeyman.
Last night was The Sheild only on HD10 which I have to tape for freinds.

Final views? I recorded it to skip the ads, and delete it if the consensus is that I would waste forty minutes of my life.

I'll put my hand up and say I enjoyed it. It had some good ideas I thought. I think it's worth 40 minutes of your life to make your own mind up.
@2sheds....I think you were wrong.

It was enjoyable once the girl robot joined in with the action.
I think it has promise. Don't you just love it when a truck comes out on nowhere and slams the bad guy?

trucks are a good old cliche favourite for ploughing into villains.
Mr Gimlet; i asked over at DTV if any member was able to record me last night's episode (since my recorder has turned over), so was just wondering if you did so, would you be able to record me a copy?

www.yourtv.com.au has it down as being repeated tonight at 23:30.

yeh i'm aware there is a repeat and i watched last night's episode, just looking to record the episode since my DVD recorder doesn't want to turn on anymore (I guess that's what i get for buying a chrap one to use on the spare tele).

NO! but the sound was ok for plain old PL11 though. You would think all new shows, especially from the US, would be in 5.1 wouldn't you?

Sarah must have had John young. She was 33 and John was 15. There was no way Sarah was an 18 yr old in the original Terminator. Anyway, I digress.

It wouldn't be the first time that a show was produced in 5.1 but transmitted over here in pro-logic. I'd love to know why this is. Channel 7 seems to be the only channel broadcasting US shows in 5.1 consistently.

I thought it was good as a show, not a waste of time at all - loved how they buzzed out of the vault at just the right moment.
whited-out spoiler bit :)
very pity about no 5.1, I guess one day we'll get real HDTV over here. but yes, the PLII was involving.
looking forward to the next one.

Anyone else like 'Burn Notice' Chanel 10 Tuesdays?
Great spy action mixed with cool and comedy.

G'day,

What's the point? If you've seen Terminator III then you know that Skynet goes online and most of the earth is wiped out by nuclear weapons on Judgement Day. Continually evading terminators before they get to that point is gunna get old real fast ("Oh noes! It found us! Run John! Run! Oh noes! It found us! Run John! Run! Oh noes! ... "), so unless they shift the action way into the future, or pretend that Terminator III never existed, then basically it's just The Fugitive with robots.
Still, Lena Headey (who was the Queen in 300) does a passable Rambette, and the femme terminator cute enough (in a young Ally McBeal kinda way) to keep the fellas watching for more "oh dear it seems that time travel has taken all my clothes away scenes" (and I did larf at the "You'd better holster those" line).
Lots of explosions, lots of recycled bits from the the movies, but not much else IMHO. Hopefully it gets better.

This may well be 'after' T3. Skynet went on-line, so they have come back in time again before those events, to try and stop it being built again. Don't you just love time travel.
